Hi Everyone,

I am new in this forum and also newbie in PVR. I recently downloaded this great program GB-PVR. I was configuring it and got to the point where it asks me for EPG source. I was wondering if someone can point me to the right direction where I can find a free/ good quality EPG. By the way I live in California, USA.

Regards,
Greg

The Wiki is a great source of information. For those in North America, Schedules Direct is probably the most reliable although there are other options. Follow this link http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG and it will hopefully answer most of your questions.

Is there another one that offers free service? it seems like Schedule Direct has a fee though free for 7 days trial.

Other options are listed under "Misc. Grabbers from Other PVR communities…" I am not sophisticated with computers so I opted for the $20 a year option because there is less "maintenance" work to do. As I understand it, the other options take the information from a website but if the website is redesigned, someone needs to tweak the program to make it work.

yapi2xml is also a free option that works pretty well (right now).

Of course I wrote it so I would say that... but it does have GUI making it easier than some of the command line ones. If you have Windows media center whurlston and zehd have a program that takes MCE's tv guide and converts it. They're all on the EPG page in the wiki near the top and yapi2xml is in my sig.

$20 a year is cheap.

Thank you all for your replies!! I'll give yapi2xml a try since it is free... If I can't figure it out then I'll probably consider investing $20 a year subscription with Schedule Direct. Wish me luck!!
