I'm beginning to have more problems skipping back and forth on recordings made from DVB-T channels, it would appear to be only on some channels, but I don't have enough data to be sure of this. (gut feeling is ITV and "dave" from Belmont tx).
The sort of thing that happens is that when the first commercials come on after around 15 minutes, then skipping forward (default time, 30sec?) only goes forward a few seconds - later on, a forward skip might actually go backwards.
I'm currently using the .1307 cyberlink mux and will go over to the mux thread in a moment and grab some more to test. I'm wondering if there are any programs out there that can do a quick scan of an mpeg file to see if there are any timeline problems. The change mux, record an hour, try it out - seems to take for ever for each interaction.

dropped frames i reckon was causing it make sure you have a good signal
i couldnt get my signal any stronger
im on dvb-s but im sure its all the same
i was using the 1307 aswell
i have changed to dvrms for now seems better but comskip doesnt work think i need the new version havent looked into yet

PVAStrumento can analyze and to some extent also repair timestamps for you.
I'm not always right

There must be something odd - PVAStrumento just exits with one of my recordings. It's fine with stuff recorded from my PVR150 and ofther mpegs, but barfs at recordings from DVB-T. Blank log file if that is enabled.

Will try the next suggestion shortly.

Let us know how you get along. I haven't tested it very much but what I saw was very nice.

Well Mpegstreamclip handles the DVB-T files that the other one wouldn't open. Not had time as yet to see how it reports various codecs for my slipping timeline problem. I don't really want a program that fixes the files (although that would be nice for those I already have) I want something that quicky reports errors so I can go through the large number of mux's to find one that behaves well.

At first glance, mpegstreamclip woul appear to be a good freeware alternative to VidoRedo, including it's manual snipping of adverts - nice and quick.

I think GSpot should do that, it always scans the whole file when you open it.
