Greetings,

Newbie and having trouble getting findfast to work. I have put the dll in the gbpvr root and skins in the skin directory but cannot get it to work. Do I need to make manual changes to a config or skin?

Current release of gbpvr 2313

You should put the dll in the gbpvr/plugins directory.
The plugin skin should be copied to the skin directory.

That said, normally the plugins are distributed as zip files and you can just extract them to the gbpvr rooot directory.

If you are using a skin that is not availible in the plugins zip file, copy the ones that do exist into the skin directory you are using. (This will make it work, but not look perfect ;-)

Last, you should also enable it in the config app.

blader_se,

I tried it initially in the plugins directory like the rest of the apps but it didn't show up in the config. Searching the forum I found a reference to it for another plugin that said put it in the root. Neither way shows up in the config which is why I'm stumped. I am using a MediaMVP but it doesn't show up on the PC app either. Do I need to add/change something in an .xml file? Maybe I've goofed something up since I was just hacking around initially but I do have several plugins working. This is an awesome app/plugins and any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Are you sure that the files went were they belong? Beacause jorm started it dir structure in the zip in a dir called ff (at least in the release of today). Just make sure the FastFindPlugin.dll is in your plugins dir. Then the config tool should show up (normaly at last position in the beginning) the plugin even if you don't have copied anything to the skin dir.

damn. I try to be careful and not include the parent directory. Guess last night I was too tired it was close to midnight.

Make sure the fastfind.dll is in the plugin directory not a subdirectory and check the skins as well.

Man, you guys are quick! I'm at work now, I'll download the new zip and double check everything again. The way things are working I need to send sub some cash, even my wife is finding it useful (which is a good thing). She got up this morning and used the weather plugin.

the new zip still has the directory screwed up. Unzip to another directory it will create a ff parent. copy the gbpvr directory over the one in devnz and it should work.

I just installed FindFast plugin and the searching process works great except when I click on the show that I've found, it says "Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Any ideas? The normal search guide function that comes with GBPVR originally works just fine though.

Thanks

Fixed my problem. Had to install .Net Framework SP1. I previously had 1.0

Ok...I'm getting the same error. How can I tell which version of the ,NET Framework I have? I tried to get SP1 and nothing seems to happen. The instructions (at MSDN) say to follow the on screen directions...I never get that far...no installer-like thing shows up. Any ideas?
