Actually, I have been running the old GBPVR.exe when I test things on my PC. If I right-click on the GB tray icon, and choose start PVRX2, the TV Guide displays just like on my MVPs (using the default settings).

So I just tried editing Skin2\Blue\TV Guide\skin.xml and now the MVP display reflects my changes - thanks!

Looks like it's a bit different than the old skin.xml settings, but I think I should still be able to tweak it for viewing on TVs.

I am surprised this issue of increasing the size of TV Guide fonts has not come up more often. I guess that means many users watch directly on their PCs, viewing from only a foot or two away. Or, they all have eagle vision Smile

Thanks again for your help!!!

It looks ok size-wise on my MVP, but I do have pretty good eyesight. How good TVs show text does vary quite a bit though.

Glad you got it sorted.

This could be the main reason why the Blue-Retro-SHV high visibility skin has had 265 download in under six weeks Wink

The readability of the TV Guide is dependent on quite a few factors, like TV size, viewing distance, tv's characteristics, viewer eyesight etc. I have a 24" diag CRT type TV (2 years old) that we view from about 10 - 12 feet. The default font sizes in GB are rather hard to see for us. A user configured setting (maybe offering 3 sizes) sure would be sweet Smile

I'll be honest - it's unlikely to happen. Too much other stuff on my plate.

With nice skins that others have created, I guess the need is not as great. I just d'loaded Blue-Retro-SHV, and it looks great on my MVPs - except that the channel header info on far left column is blank Sad I'll try some other skins and see if the problem persists...

Yes it's setup to show channel icons only.

You could try changing "<TVGuideChannelHeaderType>3</TVGuideChannelHeaderType>" to "1" or "2" in the config.xml file & see how that looks, or if you look right at the bottom of the tv guide skin you will see where I remmed out the channel name under "Icon & Name"

Yes, I discovered that. I unremmed the line you mentioned. Now I see channel number and name. Only odd thing is that channel name (e.g. WCBS) is split into 2 lines (WCB and S). So it displays as:
2
WCB
S

Any way to make the channel name display as one line? There appears to be plenty of space on each side of the "WCB". It also surprises me that it displays as center-justified (horizontally), yet the code seems to suggest align="Left"...

I have no idea how sub is able to answer these sorts of questions? I need to be able to have the problem visible in front of me to actually get things just right:o

The problem is with the "loc="36,5" size="62,90" if you change it to "loc="5,5" size="90,90" everything will move left but it will display over top of the icon, do you have an icon? You just need to play with those settings until you get it to display the way you want it too.
