This is an idea I've had spinning in my mind for a while now and I really think there's a demand for this..
I have my HTPC set for a very short standby delay (2 minutes) and I like it like that way, keeps the machine from being on unnecessarily. However it also poses a slight problem... I sometimes get "stupid" standbys, like just 15 minutes ago; one program finishes recording and comskip does its job, two minutes pass and the machine enters power saving mode. 15-20 seconds later it wakes up and starts recording another show! Now that's not smart and it's not good for the hardware.
Therefore I'd like to propose that a plugin would be written (I'd try it myself but my programming skills are totally nonexistent) to check what the 'puter it up to in the near future and is there's going to be activity in say the next 10 minutes (configurable naturally) then prevent the computer from entering standby. Preferably it would check the scheduled tasks (I've got xmltv and virus scan there, everyone probably has something..) and GB-PVRs internal scheduling, i.e. recordings. It might also be useful it it were configurable that at night time the standby dealy would be shorter (turn of immediately if there's no activity in xx minutes) and longer at daytime.
I hope I'm making some sence and mostly I hope someone else would find this usefull too. Oh BTW, thanks for an awesome program, 0.90.10 is very near perfection, and thanks to all plugin developes for a heap of most excellent plugins!
