Hi,

I know sub has only just got the Net Radio plugin operational again and it's great having it back. Just though I'd add my two cents on the "user experience" of it.

I was wondering if on the next update would it be possible to have:

a) The "favourites" list comes up first rather than the Shoutcast genres. (maybe the behaviour should depend on if there are any favourite stations defined).

b) Could there be information somewhere on the screen (maybe under the menu buttons) to let me know what the net radio player is doing (i.e. "connecting", "buffering", "playing 32kbps", etc). Sometimes I'm not sure if it has responded to my pressing the remote control buttons.

Thanks

This used to exist and I miss it as well.

The majority of people dont use any favourites, which is why I defaulted to showing the web categories, but as per your suggestion... for the next release I'll default to showing the favourites if some have been created.

Any chance of getting access to other than shoutcast streams?

If you using on the PC (not MVP), then you can already save .asx files in your favourites (Netradio directory) for other non-shoutcast web stations. I dont intend to update the user interface find web radio stations from other websites though.

I wish I'd known this earlier! So this completely negates the need for DVBT radio support as far as I'm concerned cos all the bbc radio channels can be accessed by a .asx file. (edit: i've gone a bit OTT here; actually only rdaio1 is available as an asx, but it's a start...)
Except that I've just tried it, but it's not working Sad - the asx file shows up, but nothing happens when I hit play or enter. The asx plays fine through vlc, so the problems not there....
