EpisodeTweaker prob

I'm trying to use EpisodeTweaker, but I'm getting the following error message when I launch it:

GetRecordedShowInfo() - EXCEPTION: Data Source cannot be empty.  Use :memory: to open an in-memory database

I have GB-PVR 1.1.5 installed in the default directory. I unzipped EpisodeTweaker.exe to the gbpvr directory and WizUiHelper.dll into gbpvr/plugins/common. Any ideas?

EDIT: I also unzipped WizDLLs.zip into gbpvr/plugins/common.

Your db works fine on my machine. Could you try out the attached version of the program? I've added logging so maybe we can see what's going on. After running, you will find a log file in logs (EpisodeTweaker.exe.log).

I tried the debug version and it crashed immediately. I got a Microsoft .NET Framework unhandled exception. It says

Method not found: "Void WizUtilities.WizInfo.LogMessage(System.String, System.String, System.String)'.

Clicking "Quit" makes it throw the same exception again, a couple times more, until I get a standard "tell Microsoft about this problem" message.

Exactly right. I've seen this problem before and it usually means an old version of the DLL is getting loaded prior to the one in plugins/common.

Take a look in gbpvr directory for WizUiHelper.DLL. If it exists there, delete it and re-run.

If not, grab my WizDllInfoHelper program from the Wiki, run it and attach the results to this post, it should tell us where the culprit is.

You got it. The file was there. I deleted it -- actually Windows said it was in use until I closed SlimmGBPVR. I tried just stopping the GB-PVR service, but it said it was still in use. I closed SlimmGBPVR and then could delete the file. Restarted SlimmGBPVR and the GB-PVR service, and EpisodeTweaker runs now. I'm not sure why that file was there, but everything seems to work without it. Thanks!!!

Glad you got it fixed.

It was most likely put there from an earlier version of one of the plugins prior to the convention of placing the supporting DLLs in the plugins/common directory.
