.
In researching support for a 650 Based tuner card (Visiontek), I stumbled upon your post and this is the first time I have had anyone suggest that 2 HVR-1600's will work in the same machine.
I have a Vista PC and am using the QAM driver for the HVR1600 with GBPVR.
It works great at getting the digital local stations from my Verizon FIOS cable.
That spoiled me so I figured I would see if I could get a dual tuner rig working.
Unfortuantely, I have had Zero success in getting dual HVR1600's to play together in my PC.
I put a second HVR1600 in the PC,turned the PC back on and configured it as device 2.
Both of them worked perfectly in GBPVR UNTIL i rebooted the machine. Then the system acted as though there was only one HVR1600 installed.
They both show up in Device manager but that is it.
Here is the extra wierd part:
I found that if I disabled the 'non working' HVR1600,rebooted and then re-enabled the card in Device manager, both tuners worked perfectly so long as you did not reboot.
If you reboot the machine. one of the HVR1600's does it's disapearing act until you do the disable device trick again
I spent a week fussing with this trying to get it to work and finally decided that the QAM driver, being a beta driver, must not properly handle two devices.
In other words, I gave up.
I was spoiled with the 2 tuner capability so I figured that I would try a completely different brand and model of QAM tuner card as my second tuner.
Course at this point, I probably should have just tossed it all and gotten the Homerun but I am stubborn.
I have purcahsed (but not installed yet) a Visiontek USB card that is supposed to be the same as the Ati 650 pRO which is supported in GVPVR.
It is called the "VisionTek - TV Wonder 650 USB 2.0 HDTV Tuner with PVR"
So the point of my post is that I was off searching for info on the 650 Pro support of GBPVR and found your post that said you are the first one (and I searched everywhere) who is stating that dual HVR1600's are supposed to work in the same PC.
I am only using the digital antenna coonnection because all I want is the digital/High Def unencrypted local channels and I never even tried to see if the Analog part would work.
If my new attenmpt at dual digital tuners works, at least when someone searches your forum for the world 'Visiontek', they will find some info as I will post my results.
