Hi,
I `m new to gbpvr, It looks like a great app, congratulations to dev team.
I live NA and in the past I `ve used progdvb and Dvb dream with success but GbPvr looks a lot more promising. I did a lot of reading on your board.
This is what I have:
HW
CPU: E2140
Ram: 2GB (2X1GB)
MB: Gigabyte G31 chipset, I`m using the onboard VGA
DVB: Twinhan 102g w/1238 BDA driver
Also there is a Hauppauge PVR150 w/ driver and application CD 3.4d1 installed
DN superdish and DP34 switch

SW
Win XP pro SP2
Cyberlink Power DVD 6(2Channel oem)
MS VC++ redistribution pack 2005 SP1
MS .Net 2.0
Emunation 3006
Mdapi from your site, w/mdapifilter dated 12/06/06
DvbDream 1.4g
GbPvr 1.1.5

I have the ffdecsa.dll and mdapifilter.ax (the contents of mdapi) along with the pthreadvc2.dll (from emunation) in the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr directory and the other emunation files in the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\MDPlugins directory.
I ran regsvr32 "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\mdapifilter.ax" to register.
I also checked the mdapi box under Misc in Config.

Questions:
To test I only scanned echo7 119w, I have found some channels, but noticed that it scans 42 tps, if I`m not mistaken there are only 28 tps on 119w. I also get a lot of channels with no names. In any case I did not get the 400+ channels that are on 119w. I used:
LOF1=11250
LOF2=14350
and left the middle parameter blank because I didnt know whats the correct value. Could this cause a problem?
I started Gbpvr, the mdapi icon is visible, so I go into log and and seems that it crashes after a few seconds. I reboot, start gbpvr and know its running like 20-25 min , the log file only has 2 entries:

20:26:25: MDAPI_CHANNELCHANGE
20:26:23: MDAPI_GET_VERSION: MD-API Version 01.03 - 01.06
Is this normal?
Do I need to setup the epg in order Gbpvr to function, because I skipped that part?
I read that Gbpvr does not support the Epg through the dvb stream in NA is that true ?

Thanks

Yeah, those values dont sound correct, and most likely contributing to this problem. Unfortunately I'm not expert in what LNB settings you'd need to use for services in that part of the world. Some other user might be able to advise though. Can you not see the values in one of the other DVB programs you had working?

Try creating the following registry setting, creating a c:\temp directory, then view live tv and leave it there for 15 seconds or so, then zip and attach the c:\temp\psi.log and I'll take a look.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Devnz\LogPsiProcessing=2 (DWORD)

No, it should function without it.

Quote:I read that Gbpvr does not support the Epg through the dvb stream in NA is that true ?
Correct, the proprietary version of the DVB epg used by BEV/DN isnt supported.

I have a Twinhan card pointed at 110,119 the settings that work for me are.
LNB LOF1-97500
LNB SWITCH-10750
LNB LOF2-11250

As for Emunation do a search on DVBN Forums for a newer version of Argwils mdapifilter

Hi,

first, thanks for your help.

@ smoking666: are you using Legacy or DP type LNBFs. From the parameters that you given, it seems that you are using Legacy type LNBFs

@ sub: I have done a little more testing, I have deleted 119w and scanned 110w. Here the Tp count seems OK, 32 TPs on this sat, but again not all channels are scanned and I still have a lot of channels with no names.
However I was able to view one of the guide channels without any problem, and then another one(freeview channels). So I think that one of my problems is mdapi or emunation.
I remember years ago, reading that when dealing with DP type equipment you would have to convert the TP frequencies to DP for these to work properly. I`m waiting for a confirmation on this. I will keep you updated on my progress. I will also follow you advice.

DP are DishPro LNBs. I have seen discussions on MyTheatre that the DP LNBs require some different ini files if I remember correctly. I suggest he search the MT or DVBN boards to learn more. I used "legacy" LNBs when I was playing with it so I don't know. I would guess other NA users have DP lnbs though.

The 42 TPs on E7 is from the Joshyfun info. I think it also includes some other sats very close to the 119 slot. You can edit out the extra transponders from the BDA->DVB-S file for that sat. It should not be an issue though as GBPVR will just skip the transponder if it is not there. I have seen the Twinhan issue discussed at the end of this http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ht=twinhan thread on 119 because of the extra transponder listings.

Hi,

Thanks for the input soccerdad, I know that DP type of equipment needed to be setup differently, so I thought that the 42 tps was a result of incorrect settings. Currenty I also use DD1.4g which has these predefined(I guess) as
"Bandstacked DP DBS HIGH" with lof1=11250 and lof2=14350. Like 3 years ago when I tried Prog I remember that I had to do something like this(quote from somebody else):
"....... If you have DishPro (DP) LNBs, you must "Import" a modified list of TPs from your source of your file section In this list, the Horizontal transponders have been converted to Vertical because DVB software (MT, Ritz and others), can't "see"the Horizontal transponders .........."

Update: I used Gbpvr to watch a movie, no problem. I also noticed that when viewing a freeview channel , after a while Gbpvr would stop responding, no channel change.
