In case it's of use to others with an old PC, I'm finding GBPVR 1.1.5 much better than 1.0.16 with regard to MVP use. Both "Live TV" and playback of recordings are pretty well OK now. I can occasionally see a small area of blockiness but it's very short and gone in a flash. Has something changed in the way the MVP is handled? Could be it's the reinstall which has changed something.

I still can't change channels when watching "live" TV via the MVP. The MVP either crashes or goes back to the main menu screen. (This is not a big deal for me as I'm currently only using GBPVR as a PVR for the channels that I don't get via the cable/TiVo system.)
GBPVR 1.4.7, XP pro SP3, 3.2GHz P4, 1GB RAM, Hauppauge WinTV 9000 DVB-T, Hauppauge Nova-S plus, 1 MVP

Yes, there were changes. The MVP server was rewritten for the first 1.x releases, and there was still a few bug being fixed in the following releases 1.0.16 and 1.1.5. SO 1.1.5 should be slight better than 1.0.16 in this respect.

I've noticed that I only seem to get blocky video playback (via MVP) towards the end of a recording, say like the last 10 min of an hour long show. Is there something different happening towards the end of a file that would make streaming more onerous?

I cant say I've ever seen it myself, or reports of it. This stuff wouldnt have changed, and will be exactly the same as previous releases.
