Well due to my inquisitive nature i keep trying different things with my setup and of course it seems that i break things when i do this. I have however learned a few things by doing this and asking questions here. So here we go again with a previous problem but i would like to take a different look at it. If i use the default version of ffmpeg i can play avi files with no problem. I can not however play ape files nor can i play flac by changing the extension to fla. If i use the latest version of ffmpeg (actually i have tried about 20 different versions) I can play the ape files and the flac files by changing the extension to fla. I can not however get any sound at all from the avi files. I solved this problem before by installing zprocess as suggested by zhed. I have tried that again and this time it wont play at all with zprocess installed. I am not certain but i believe it is because it wont save the path to mencoder. It is set by default to go to the mplayer folder but when i try to add the mencoder in the path it wont keep the setting. So..i would like to see if anyone might know these two things... why do i not have sound with the newer version of ffmepg and is there a way to fix this? Any ideas on why the path is not saved in zprocess or possibly another solution as to why it wont play at all?? It doesnt freeze or reboot it just sits there.
