Yeah I think your problem might be the "..\"

Code:
..\Pink Martini\Hang on Little Tomato\04 The Gardens of Sampson & Beasley.wma

I don't think I would have seen a playlist like that before.

To confirm my theory. Can you copy the playlist to the ".." location and remove the ".." from each line. Rescan then try that.

So is your music in C:\Documents and settings\hp_proprietaire\mes_documents\discotheque\pink martini\Hang on Little Tomato\04 The Gardens of Sampson & Beasley.wma??

With the playlists held in C:\Documents and settings\hp_proprietaire\mes_documents\discotheque\mes selections??

So if you copy the playlist to C:\Documents and settings\hp_proprietaire\mes_documents\discotheque\

And edit and remove the ".." from each line. and try that for me.

And for future release I can look at adding support for ..\ base paths.

Well, still stalled. I did the following:

1. I moved the M3U files under the "Discotheque" library, where all my music folders are.
2. I removed the ".." from the beginning of each file location (I made another try with removing the "..\")
3. I nuked and scanned.

Looks like the SCAN does not resolve the M3U files. If I look in the DB3 file right after the scan, I do find the correct list of M3U files in the Playlist table, but the Playlistdata table is empty.

Would it help if I sent you the log file right after a fresh scan?

Thanks again for looking into this.

The scan doesn't resolve the files in the playlist, but finds the actual playlist (m3u) file and puts that in the database so when you go to the playlist screen (ctrl-g) it will show up with (M3U) after it's name.

So in this case I would expect the playlsitdata table to be empty (that table is used for saving a currently playlist playlist internally within ML2 - functionality that is going to be replaced by saving all playlists as files).

So now when you start ML2 and look at the playlist screen, do the tracks for the playlists that have been scanned appear??

The list of playlists does appear correctly when I hit Ctrl-G. However, I can't then go any further since PVRX2 fails at that moment. And the only thing I see (behind the error message box) is the list of playlists on the left and nothing on the right side. (see attached screen capture)

And here is the Ctrl-G portion of the log:

Code:
2008-01-11 09:16:49    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary2: Playlist toggle called (ctrl-g)
2008-01-11 09:16:49    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary2: Going to playlist
2008-01-11 09:16:49    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary2: No tracks found in playlist (Ambiance Jazz) , so loading tracks
2008-01-11 09:16:49    INFO    MusicLibrary2: Loading Playlist Ambiance Jazz
2008-01-11 09:16:49    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary2: No tracks found in playlist (Ambiance World) , so loading tracks
2008-01-11 09:16:49    INFO    MusicLibrary2: Loading Playlist Ambiance World
2008-01-11 09:16:49    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary2: Retrieving playlist tracks for Ambiance Jazz
2008-01-11 09:16:49    INFO    MusicLibrary2: Loading Playlist Danse ChaCha
2008-01-11 09:16:49    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary2: Retrieving playlist tracks for Danse ChaCha
2008-01-11 09:16:49    INFO    MusicLibrary2: Loading Playlist Danse Mambo
2008-01-11 09:16:49    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary2: Retrieving playlist tracks for Danse Mambo

Thanks for your patience.

Bugger, thought we had it then....

could you turn on the "Insane logging" in the config, and perform the same action as above, start pvrx2, select ML2, ctrl-g - wait for crash. And post me the pvrx2.exe.log and the musiclibrary2.log.

Ooops - here is the PVRX2 log.

Well, I think I may have a bigger problem. I switched to Blue skin. Now PVRX2 crashes as soon as I hit the MusicLibrary2 "button" on the main menu!

Is it possible that I messed up somewhat the skin installation? Looking at the second log attached, there are a lot of errors generated by missing files under the skin library.

I hope I am not I am not imposing too much on you.

Regards.

This first one lists errors like:
Code:
2008-01-11 16:29:26.252    ERROR    [9]    FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:: System.ArgumentException: La longueur de la chaîne ne peut pas être égale à zéro.
Nom du paramètre : oldValue
   à System.String.Replace(String oldValue, String newValue)
   à PsycikProductions.MusicLibrary.Playlist.GetPlaylistFromM3U()
   à System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state)
à System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
   à System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()

which I'm guessing is your problem. Would be better if i actually trapped the error, but looks like I'm not.

Can you try with one of these playlist, to put the full path of the mp3 track and see if that helps. I think it's something to do with figuring out from the partial path in the playlsit file what the full path is.

yes there might be something funny with your skin installation. The skins for ML2 going inthe skin directory, not the skin2. Just confirm that.
