ATI AGP 9600XT vs PCI/e 2600XT?

So, I've decided to upgrade the MLB and Vid card to try and increase my HD success. Is the new 2600 an upgrade over the older 9600?

Going Intel Core2 Duo 2.2ghz, 2gb mem, new Maxtor SATA drive, etc...

AMD x64 4400+, 2 GB RAM, ATI Theater 650 Pro and PVR150MCE, ATI Radeon 2400XT, HDMI to Samsung LNT-4671f 1080p 120hz LCD

yep it is especially in HDTV decoding, it will offload the h.264 and VC1 decoding with the right decoder.
