If you make just a single entry in the dump file, and import it, it won't blank out existing information? Hmmm. that sound like a very good idea... I was just thinking about making something that would export to the dump file, then sort the shows, and then import again. I'd like to have my list of recurring shows alphabetized, but not specifically prioritized... Maybe there is an easier way to do that. Perhaps shuffle the OIDs if the records in the DB?

What about is I try to "add" the same thing twice - with exactly the same details, filename, channel and start end time, will the second time I try to add it be ignored? Or do I need to keep track of the files I've added to the db??
And and to pretty it up, I take it, it does have to have a valid channel name to be imported?

Cool answered my own question.
Works well. Are recordings always dated when looking the series list? Still not sure what will happen here.... Quote:And and to pretty it up, I take it, it does have to have a valid channel name to be imported?

I'm working on something too. Race you....!
OK I think I have Season recordings, all episodes on a channel.. Basically, you have to have an in and out time of '0001-01-01 00:00:00.0000000' , and channelID and a programme_oid that matches a entry in the Programmes table, that will have the same information... I can't see the difference with Weekly (all shows, 3 hour timeslot, weekly) and Daily (All shows, same timeslot, everyday) It seems that they both create an entry in Recording_Schedule, that looks the same, which is an Start Time that's a hour and a half before actual timeslot to an hour after the actual end time... weekly 2008-01-23 18:30:00.0000000 to 2008-01-23 21:30:00.0000000 for a show 2008-01-23 20:00:00.0000000 to 2008-01-23 20:30:00.0000000 daily 2008-01-23 20:30:00.0000000 to 2008-01-23 23:30:00.0000000 for a show 2008-01-23 22:00:00.0000000 to 2008-01-23 23:00:00.0000000 How can you tell the difference?

If it doesnt find one, it creates one, but it isnt associated with any capture source.

I think I figured it out, i.e when looking at the "Ready" Recordings - select a show name all recordings listed for that show seem to only be in dated order....which makes since if you record them - I was using the imported file create date which wasn't always in the correct order. I got around it by usign the current date and time which even though every file is imported at the same time the subtitle is different so now they show up in episode order sub Wrote:It looks for an existing channel with that name. You I made a new channel called "IMPORT" so they imported recordings are easy to spot over something that may be recorded - also added (Import) to the episode name.

Basically I have a recordings screen when downloaded recording show up as "ShowName(Import)" - with the subtitle of the Episode number (SxxExx - Episode Name) and then they list in Series/Episode order.
