Plugin Developer howto for dummies.

I'm looking for a list of threads that will be good reading for getting into writing a plugin. I have downloaded some of the example source like hello.zip and dvdripper.zip but I cant get the example to compile as it's looking for other files.

Is there a rollup of files I need to download seperately?

I'm a newbie to windows C++ programming but have done it on the Unix land for decades. so if there are any tips to getting started that would be great.


I'm using VS2005 Professional as my IDE under Windows XP. All I have installed is GBPVR latest version.

You might take a look at the doc provided here as to what references need to be included.

Note, the WizTools are not the only way to create plugins, you can extend subs base plugin classes (ie BaseButtonUiTask) to achieve the same results.

Regardless of what approach you take to develop your plutin, the "Wiz Developer Documentation.doc" has details as to how the project needs to be setup and what references need to be present.
