I don't know how to fix this. I'm using Zap2xml scraper. All my channels in the EPG are showing no show details now.

I went into each cap source and deleted extraneous channels. I then went back into each cap source and emptied first, then updated the EPG. At some point I went to the channels tab and hit "remove unreferenced channels" and it only left 3 or so extraneous which I left unchecked.

I don't know why the xml file's time stamp was not matching with when I was doing the updating. It looks like it was not being updated which I guess would lead to me seeing all the crap that was there before.

I don't know why the F'n thing went TU in the first place. Ahh, I'm feeling a bit frantic.

I've tried to attach the logs and xml file. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone out there can offer.

Cheers

I posted what I did to fix mine in your other post:
http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=10

I found that I first needed to manually run the updateEPG.bat file. Just clicking on the "Update EPG" button in the config screen just seemed to import the already existing zap2xml.xml file.

Woo Hoo! It worked. A cool wave of relief just washed over me. Nice.

Thank you, thank you, thank you HarryH3, I owe you one.

For the mess it seems like it is, it functions. I'm referring to my stuff being in different directories and such.

I'm now wondering if all this could be due to my addition of ZoneAlarm, but I installed that back on 1/21/08. How could it have worked all that time, 21/22 days? I say this because just now when I manually ran updateepg.bat, ZA popped up asking if zap2xml.exe was OK, I said yes and allow in the future. I know I previously authorized zap2xml.exe and when I look in progam control of ZA I see it in there three times.

I guess I can understand why people hate firewalls, but after dealing with some trojans/viruses I now feel it to be necessary. Oh well, seems like the current fire is out.

Thanks again Harry Smile

Glad to help! I just went through this the other night, but I only had a couple of 6-hour slots (through all channels!) on two consecutive nights in the TV Guide. (Actually, the wife found them, so the problem was serious!) Wink It took me a while to figure out the magic incantations to make it work again, but once I figured out the logic of what all was supposed to be taking place all was well once again with the WAF. Smile

My firewall settings haven't changed, so I don't know what messed mine up. It did get munged at the first of the year when my cable company changed their lineup! Our ABC affiliate changed to a different station and the CourtTV name change to TruTV both seemed to throw the scraper for a loop. I logged into zap2it and edited my channels list to reflect the changes and then reloaded the EPG using the process listed in that other post.

Happy viewing! Smile

For the future you may want to use this technique. Although the wiki page doesn't stress the script's ability to 'fix' the channels and timeslots, it does exactly that..

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc37

The wiki explains the steps the script goes through, and Harry, it might make a little sense what you did to get your system going...

This script is so easy. It just takes a while.
