In order to make the fix more universal I need to know: is Scan-1.cache name d after Capture source 1 and so a second capture source's file would be Scan-2.cache...

Glad it worked so far...

Yes, the Scan-1.cache file is for Capture source 1, and Scan-2.cache would be for capture source 2.

You are awesome!

I will be sending you a GBPVR.DB3 file with 2 capture devices setup. They are actually the same card but you have to set up 2 seperate capture sources for each satellite.

Also the Scan-1.cache file is natively stored in the BDA directory.

Thanks again

I have been trying to send you those files for the last 2 hours but my email is acting up, so hopefully they will be there soon!

I was going to try to get GBPVR to work with Bev, but I don't understand why Schedules Direct would be required. Were you able to get GBPVR to get the EIT programming guide at all? BEV has a 9 day guide, and it would be better to use that but I can't seem to figure out how to get GBPVR to see it.

I assume remapping things wouldn't be required then.

You don not need to use Schedules Direct as your EPG source, there are free XMLTV scrappers available to use. They will work with bev. If you look in the wiki under EPG you will find them. As for using bev's I don't belive that it works in GBPVR, at least I could not get it to work.

I chose Scedules Direct because they are talking about supporting the PPV channels.

In GBPVR setup it mentions "Dishnetwork" EPG or something like that.

BEV should be similar. It is on 0x0441 PID (Dish is on 0x0300) and is a full 9 day guide which includes PPV and episode numbers/original air dates to prevent duplicate recordings. I guess GBPVR just has to support it, but I can't figure out how to get it to work with any EIT, even the 2 event per channel one. (there is also the 44 hour guide).

After scanning for all channels in gbpvr (hundreds of them) which took a long time, and then clicking "Enable" for each and every one, it already took way to long to set this up. Mapping channels would seem to take even longer. It really seems like a needlessly long process so I'm looking for ways to speed things up.

From this thread it doesn't sound like you can use bev EPG.

Yeah, I know it takes a while for scanning and even longer to map the channels. That's why I started this thread! Zehd is working on an app to help with this.

Thanks

That's exactly what we're doing. The program I wrote does the mapping in a blink of the eye. (Other steps take longer) Still working on the multi tuner aspect of the program...

I should mention that the UltraXMLTV Manager (as yet unreleased) is meant to compliment the UltraXMLTV Enhancer. But it is all optional. You could use the manager to map the digital channels and that might be all you use it for...

But if you wanted to use the Enhancer, then you would need to disable Native support for Schedules Direct. You can still use SD, but you would need to use the xmltv grabber to get the listings...

The other parts of the process (very slow scanning and having to "enable" the individual channels with hundreds of mouse clicks) would still be a problem. Where is that "check all" option. Argh.

It just seems like patchwork to me since the full 9 day BEV guide is free and built into the satellite stream. Channel mapping wouldn't be required at all. Unfortunately that link you provided seems to indicate that it isn't supported in gbpvr.

If you can arrange for the BEV satellite to be over my house for a few days, I'll see if I can add support for its proprietary EPG format. Big Grin

Seriously, I'd love to have support for it, like I do for the standard DVB EPG, but its not easy for me to add this non-standard listing format while I'm here on the other side of the world.

It's really not that big of a deal! You only have to scan the satellite once, and Zehd's app is going to do all the mapping, enabling and disabling of all the channels, and it does it really fast as well.

Cheer up, with a little hard work you will have a kick-ass satellite PVR up and running in no time! Smile
