When I try to scan for digital channels it tells me that it is unablt to start the BDA device and please check the configuration. I checked the BDa file but can't seem to find the problem.

Try deleting any *.cache files in the c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\bda directory.

I deleted the files and it rewrites them when I try running the channel search. It says another process is using this file when it errors out. I don't know how that would be though because it just wrote the file? The file that it writes is 0KB in size.

I noticed that you are using the VistaView Saber. I suspect you may need to add the following to your bda.ini and set your capture source to use this entry instead:

Code:
[VistaView Saber type2]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
FILTER_TUNER=ViXS PureTV ATSC/DVBC Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=ViXS PureTV Digital TV Receiver
PIN_TUNER_IN=Antenna In
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=TS Out

[VistaView Saber (QAM) type2]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=3
FILTER_TUNER=ViXS PureTV ATSC/DVBC Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=ViXS PureTV Digital TV Receiver
PIN_TUNER_IN=Antenna In
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=TS Out

You can also run filtercheck.exe and post the filtercheck.log

Chaning to the type2 device gives the same results. It will give the can't find bda device error then give an exception error if I try to run the scan a second time, forcing me to quit the config program.

From your filtercheck.log it doesn't look like you have the latest driver (from the name of your tuner filter).
Download it here: http://www.vistaview.tv/index.php?option...&Itemid=46

That driver is for the PCI-E. I have the PCI version. The driver I have can be found here http://www.vistaview.tv/index.php?option...&Itemid=46

ver 6.210012

My mistake. You should not be using the "type2" entry then. The original entry is the one you should be using.

yea thats the only one it finds when I check the box to list installed devices. It doesn't seem to matter though. it still gives the "unable to start the BDA device you have configured" error.

Delete any *.cache files in the "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\bda" directory then do another scan then repost the logs and I'll take a look.
