The supplied value is only used as part of the final filename when doing a manual recording. (ie, not linked to a programme)

I see, when I pass null for the programme argument, it results in

fileName + "_" + startdate + starttime + ".mpg"

What about the maxFiles argument ? Can I leave this to 1 ?

From memory, yes.

That specifies the maximum number of recordings you want to have on disk for that season recording. zero = keep all. If you set it to 1, then it'll only keep the last recording.

Thank you.

And the last one, for today ;-) ...

When a recording is scheduled and running, but during the recording the signal falls away, is that detected by GBPvr ? (didn't find any behaviour like this)

What I plan to do is to monitor the recorded filesize, and when it stops increasing I know something is going wrong. Then apparantly, I have to delete my recording in GBPvr, otherwise it doesn't seem to detect this recording went wrong, and locks other upcoming recordings.
Or did I miss some way to get around all this ?

I assume you're talking about digital devices. If so, and <BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording> is not set to "0" in config.xml, then it will regularly check the signal and try to relock the signal. It is set to 0 by default because some cards cause a stutter in the recording when the signal status is checked.

I'm using dvb-c, and my BDACheckSignalStatusDuringRecording setting is set to 0. But what happens to the recording in such a case, and it's state in the database ? Or does the signaldropout has to last a given time before the recording is marked as failed ?

It'll try to relock it and continue on in the same file. There is one exception to that - if this happens in the first 30 seconds, then it'll restart the recording, which cause a new file to be created.

Nothing is noted about the problem in the database.

Hi,

Is there a reason why the assemblies GBPVRBackendCommon and GBPVRPublic are not strongly named ?

I'm asking because I want to put my assembly in the GAC, and so I have to sign it, but since it references the (unsigned) GBPVR assemblies, it prvents me from doing so. So no, my question is not for joking Smile

Ok, I can understand why you might have wanted this then, but sorry this involves extra time which I just dont have available. You'll just have to make do with the way things are currently.
