So I figured I'd see what all the fuss was about and got me an HVR1600. Purchased a very good antenna too. Even after using GBPVR for more than 2 years I can't get far. I didn't use the software that came with it as their web site had updated drivers and instead of installing all their crap I just searched for the drivers and let it install. When setting device I choose 1600 QAM but if I try to map channels to EPG, it craps out.
I haven't tried the ATSC side yet but if anyone has been thru this and has the cliff notes for the best way to get this working in GBPVR, I'd appreciate some tips.
Thanks

Paul

What happened when you tried? Zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

The Digital Channel Mapping guide seems to begin to scan (it says initialize) and then I get the 'GBPVR has stopped working' message and I need to 'close program'.
If I have both the analog cable connected and the ATSC antenna connected, shouldn't 1 tuner be set to BDA recording plugin (which gives me 3 'device type' choices, 1500MCE (ATSC), HVR-1600 (ATSC) and HVR-1600 (QAM). I would assume the second tuner is set as normal Direct Recording plugin? I think that's my confusion. When I set the second tuner for Cable and HVR-1600 Analog, I then get the enclosed error.

Logs are enclosed.....thanks.

For the analog capture source, what did you set the device to? It should be device #1. If this is already how you have it set, then run filtercheck.exe from the GB-PVR directory then post the filtercheck.log that gets created.

It was set to #2 but now when I set it to #1, LiveTV crashes but the GBPVR icon and status show tuner 2 in Live TV Preview mode. I can record however.
Still nothing but crashes when trying to Map Digital Channels to EPG. I'm doing something wrong and need to get a beer to settle down and think on this one.

Reproduce the live tv crash, the zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

Logs enclosed. TV status shows as still recording tv or if trying to run Live TV, it shows Live TV Preview.

Strange, I cant even see any attempt to use the device in your logs. Do you get an error message?

Yes, and once the I close it down, the tuner is still active.
When I have some time, I may just completely uninstall and reinstall GBPVR. This tuner is not in the same system as my 'main' tuner with the PVR500. I didn't have a spare PCI slot in that system so I'm playing with the 1600 in another Vista Ultimate box.

Can you have another go at viewing live tv and repost the logs? Try starting it from the TV Guide on a channel that you know is only available on that capture source (disable channel on other capture sources if you need to).
