turn off transparent backgrounds?

Hi,

I've been designing my own skin and one of the things I need to figure out is how to make the live tv guide not transparent.

My wife and I think it's a neat feature for some stuff but not for the live guide. More often than not we just can't see the guide depending on what what's playing in the background so I'd rather just not have it be transparent.

I've tried drawing a box with black fill color behind it, but the black is transparent too.

Is this doable?

theres is an option in the config.xml file for the transparency settings, i think the default is 157 (or 147) or around there, changing it to about 210 worked much better for me.
