The xml files are downloaded from TVdb but the Series and Episode updates are not being applied.

Thanks

Hi there. I'm doing some work on the programs today but I want to be sure of a couple of things. I've been having trouble with Manager, (and I'm sure others too) and that's what I will be looking into, but are you launching the Enhancer from within Manager?

Are you doing it manually? or was what you found after last nights update...?

I tried a few times, and 1.2.4 should be working. When you do it manually, you have to 'commit' to make th changes stick...

Anyway, a new version teaks some stuff. Maybe better luck with it..

The attached is a zip of my test folders.

The tepgup.cmd in the tepg folder shows what I did.

The output xmltv.xml has processed two episodes of ER with different sub-titles and given them the same Series and Episode numbers. The CSI episodes have no Series and Episode numbers.

Thanks

Version 1.2.35 of the Enhancer is behaving exactly as expected regarding Series and Episode numbers.

Thank you.

And just for fun, you can update to the new release. Tweaked a bit better, streamlined the engine, and gives a good summary in the log to see what's been done...

I noticed in your batch file that you delete the Enhancer's log prior to use.

Would you (or anyone else) like to have logging control, including 'verbose' (which it currently is), 'light', 'none', or 'delete previous' ?

Would it be possible to download the episode descriptions from TVdb and overwrite the ones in xmltv?

Frank

The version numbers that I am quoting are the numbers that are in the window title bar of the GUI. The version that I have now was downloaded about two hous ago and reports itself as 1.2.35. The earler version that was giving me wonky results reported itself as 1.2.4. (Not that I care about version numbers ! I'm grateful to you for a tool that does exactly what I want !)

I run my EPG updates manually because I have a dodgy Internet connection. I want to avoid a situation where my grabber can't connect and downloads nothing at all and I finish up with an empty EPG in GBPVR. If you are looking for things to add to the Enhancer, you might consider an "If grabber output is less than N megabytes, then stop" option.

While I'm hinting at what you might like to develop ... a gadget to do Series and Episode numbers fo existing recordings would be cute. For example, I might point the software at a folder in my Recording folder (or the Recordings folder itself, if I don't use sub-folders). For each file in the folder, the software would find the relevant entry in the GBPVR database and add the Series and Episode numbers to the sub-title in the database in the same way as the Enhancer does now for the sub-title in the xml file.

In any event, thanks for your good work.

Well, I guess it would... I am getting that info already, but just discarding it.

That should be quite easy. Hang tight for that...
