I'm tweaking my customized main menu after (not so smooth) install of 1.2.9 and I see the following cosmetic issue with button scrolling on the main menu.

As shown in the pics, when a button moves away from selected, it resizes smaller than the other unselected buttons, but then resizes when it moves to the next position. The position of the selected button also changes when moving up or down.

Anyone else see this? Or is it just my custom main menu. I don't know what setting would affect this.

Also - With panels enabled again, does that mean we can get "Weather" and "Recording Soon" panels back on the main menu? Big Grin If so, how?
What, me worry?

It may be a bug sub introduced, there was another with the main menu that was fixed in beta. I'll check it out in a bit on my end. I haven't had time yet to go over all the themes with the new menu options. If you look at the menu for blue, you will see you can choose more buttons, offset now works, and a few other odds and ends.

3rd party Plugins have to be modified to provide these features under the new method in PVRX2. None exist at this moment to do so.

Re: Main Menu Buttons

I see this using the standard Blue skin...

I don't think that the font of the item which loses the selection gets smaller. it's just that all the items in the list have the same baseline and since the selected item is much bigger than the unselected items. it encroaches on the space of the item above it.

This only happens when I move the focus upwards, if I move the focus downwards it looks fine.

I figure it's an optical illusion

edit:

I stuck a bit of lo-tack masking tape on the screen (sad or what?)... when I move the focus up, the baseline of the selected menu item moves up the screen (and looks wrong) - when I move the focus down, the baseline of the selected menu item moves down the screen (and looks right).

Should I get out more...

ACTCMS,

In the first picture, notice how Music Library is smaller than Recordings. They should be identical.

I take your point - looks like when roy moves the focus down, the menu item below the selected item certainly becomes narrower (you can only do so much with lo-tack) and possibly when he moves it up the above item does the same - I don't see this size change on the blue skin. I still see the selected item's baseline changing depending on the scroll direction though...

That's why I need to get out more - I need to see my optician...

No biggie. Blue doesn't use images for the main menu buttons so it is not something you would notice.

I was able to reproduce the same results as roy.

I changed the button sizes from 25 to 20 and it looks like below, with the button that loses focus bigger than others. But some text doesn't fit on the button. This is actually kind of cool, but would be better if it was symmetrical on the other side, coming into focus.

Is the amount the button grows with focus configurable (I think I've seen it before, but can't find it now)?

Edit: It looks like 23 is the size of ButtonSelected that eliminates the odd size. The size for ButtonNormal only affects the normal text size, not button image size.
What, me worry?

Well, I went back to 5 menu items and changed the buttons, so it's not really a concern anymore.

Also added the nowPlaying Panel, to prepare for all the new panels to come soon (me hopes Big Grin).

Now to figure out this gradient background mask of which sub speaks.

Link?

I believe that is a reference in general to the background mask over the entire main menu. It is the BackGround_Mask.png file in the menu folder.

Sorry, it's from this thread.

Yes, now the background mask is a new item for me to tinker with. Big Grin
