mvallevand Wrote:psycik sadly, sadly ML2 is one of the plugins that suffers the most in the current implementation. The 8 seconds between songs is a bit long, no album art while playing hurts, but the worst is that I like tkgafs mode and once it starts we can't signal a stop.
On the other hand there is NMT demand for lastfm access and I've seen that you have this but I've never used it. If anyone has this working on their PCH I think that would get some people trying it.

We should take offline to this discussion - but I'd be interested in discussing why...
He's not meaning ML2 specifically, but music in general.

When you play a music or video file, it hands it over to the PCH mono application to play, which does a great job but has few seconds of buffering before it'll start playback, so you end up with about 5 - 8 seconds between songs. You dont really notice it when starting a movie, but you certainly notice it between songs. I'm hopeful these are the types of things we'll be able to improve in future though with a bit of cooperation from the manufacturer.

I'd be fairly interested in that, I could also bring my prod box around to help come to a solution for the mdapi stuff. Rather than breaking yours.

Whew....I had visions of ML2 being the root of all evil...

In addition to what sub said mono doesn't tell me whether or not the user pushed stop so I don't know if the song ended or the users wants to stop so tkgafs mode continues forever. I have asked Syabas for a return code that will make this go away. They do listen they have already added the [ and ] to the remote after Sheik's request.

I'd actual prefer these talks public just so everyone knows the limitations of what they are considering buying. It is not an ML2 issue.

Sorry offline = new thread. Rather than clutter this one, which was talking about how wonderful it looks (which for some people is prob. more important than how stuff works!).

You can give me a call this afternoon if you want to come around and take a look at the PCH. I'm not sure there is much I can do about the mdapi stuff, but I've sent you a PM with a couple of comments.

Chris, sub and I must have no credibility, whatever you did differently worked. Maybe you should go onto the greenbutton forum and tell them about GB-PVR! Must be a British Empire thing.
