2008-02-25 23:59:52.171 ERROR [4] Error starting webserver: Could not load file or assembly 'GBPVRRecordingService, Version=1.0.2870.25789, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Which file can it not find? Thanks.

I checked past entries of this error, and it points to starting the GBPVR service as someone other than the Local System account. I changed my GBPVR Recording Service back to SYSTEM, and the same error appeared in the logs. The user account I am using is a local administrator to the Vista box.

Not sure what this could be.....on my Vista machine that I develop on I have User Account Control turned off.....I am thinking that perhaps the recording service is hitting up against security for the User Account Control.

UncleJohn,

Error starting webserver: Could not load file or assembly 'GBPVRRecordingService, Version=1.0.2990.23750, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

I'm getting the same. Was working fine before the recent upgrade to 1.2.9. All I did was hit install for 1.2.9 and now I get this error.

Did I miss something from the install procedures?

Thanks

M

Where are you seeing this message and when does it occur?

There were some reg issues encountered with the latest version but I don;t think that would cause this.

Have you tried just reloading ewa? Files on the wiki along with instructions for installing.

The message occurs when I start the GBPVR Recording Service. It shows in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe.log

I did try reinstalling by following the steps on the wiki...same problem.

Also, the service runs as SYSTEM

Try going into the Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services, then viewing the GBPVR Recoridng Service properties, and setting it to 'allow service to interact with desktop. This worked for another user.
