Hi Sub & others who have got their head around the IR command flow,

First off I only have a microsoft remote, its the 2a version thats the one with the coloured buttons.

When I launch an new application such as an emulator GBPVR loses focus and would therefore lose the focus of the input, that I recall was the case back in 0.9x days of GBPVR. The expereince now is that if I press mute on the remote with an application launched GBPVR goes on mute as this is set to the main volume so does the application in focus, the same applies for up and down volume.
If I press the clear button which I believe sends esc then in most case the application I am running (emulatiors) will close and GBPVR will get focus at the position it was before I launched the app. This is all great!

I would like to be able to map other keys so that my plugin in GBPVR on receipt of these keys can react by send events to the launched application, however this doesnt seem to be working.

Could someone cut short what has already been an long bout of "discovery" testing for me and explain the IR command flow and any way I can capture that without using an external app like I have done in the past (used to use HIP)

Thanks

I'm not aware of this being the case. As soon as you launch another application, and it has focus, it should be the one receiving the input.

Thats interesting!

your response sub, says to me that my expeirence in the past is still what you are expecting. there should be no changes

Unfortunately the experience has changed and I am trying to understand it so I can exploit and control its behaviour.

is there anything different in your code about the clear button (not convinced it sends an ESC, think it may be an ALT-ENTER).

Ok, I can confirm that the "clear" button on the remote is send an ESC which is exactly the same as the "back" button. However, if I have an emulator running the back button will do nothing but the clear button will take me out of the emulator back to gamezone.

Iwill look into this furthur, the other area should not be ignored why do you think when an emulator is running is the mute, volup and voldown buttons still working?
I have assumed that it was gbpvr actioning those buttons presses I suppose it could easily be that the keys being pressed are so common that the emulator also has them set the same, what do you think?

I dont know. Maybe you're using HIP or EventGhost or one of these other remote control apps?

No, none of them in use, although HIP is installed on the PC. I may remove it just to 100% sure its not affecting me somehow.

Sub,

After removing HIP from the PC then the results go back to clear, mute, volup and voldown having no effect. Therefore concluding that even though I was not running HIP its present in the system was having an effect. very strange.

Thanks for your patience :-D
