I would be really happy if the volume button was fixed in the next version. If you turn it down too much, it goes all the way to the top again. I'm sure a few of you have experienced this. I had it happen to me when my wife was on the phone next to me, the look she gave me could have burned a hole through the wall and straight through the refrigerator on the other side.

I'm not able to reproduce this here. What do you have your volume control set to in the config app?

that's usually caused by the driver's volume scale numbers,
but also may be a 'quirk' that i've noticed: the left-right arrows and vol. up/dn keep their own memory as to what the last volume was...
meaning: turn vol all the way any direction with arrows...then use volume key, you'll notice at first hit of 'vol' key that it goes immediately back to that last place 'vol' keys were at, not the last vol the arrow keys left it at...

so switching between using these gives you 2 'currrent' volume levels..
they don't share the same 'current' level..just what each was set to last..

yep, this happens to me on both my pc's - but i use the sideways button for volume control rather than the actual volume buttons most of the time (i use an external volume 99% of the time on the htpc through the stereo) - not so good when it does it and you're in bed + wake the missus... thankfully shes not the 'daggers look' type so doesnt really mind, but id like to avoid it...

i actually like it once i knew what was goin on...
you could always just map out the keys on your remote so you wouldn't have both options and it wouldn't happen...

i just keep the one i don't use often at a low level, so it's a pseudo soft-mute..Big Grin

I'm not sure what it is, but it only happpens sometimes now that I'm looking for it. Yesterday I could turn the vol. all the way down (with vol or <) and it would go down to the bottem, and no further. Today, once it gets to the end, it goes right back to the top again.

and I have my volume set to the main volume control.

Did anyone figure out when/why this occurs yet? I was reminded today when the wife was sleeping on the couch and I tried to turn down the tv. She gave me the stink eye and said "why'd you do that!?"

If you wake her with it, just tell her to go make you a sandwich since she's up.

Since you mentioned it, there's no way to control the volume through GBPVR when using spdif out to a stereo receiver, correct?
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

I can adjust the volume fine. The reciever really is the main volume control I use, but I can use the Hauppage remote to reduce input volume when needed.

Ok. I asked because with spdif out to a receiver, I can't except on the receiver.
