According to Nvidia, that graphics card is fine: http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce_7300.html

I am running PVRx2 just fine on a GeForce Go 7300 on my laptop so I would say there is something else going on with that system. Or HP has crippled the GPU.

maybe it has something to do with it being XP Media Center Edition

Seems odd that it appears the card was installed with the machine and the media center doesn't like the card.

shrugs. It's working under the GBPVR.exe without the on screen display.
It's his first look at a PVR so it's good for getting started.. and maybe he'll work on upgrading at a later date..

thanks for your help guys.. it's awesome.. and sub.. you just FREAKIN ROCK!!!!

I had a nvidea 4600ti which didn't actually support vmr9 but it worked anyway - most of the time. The odd time I would get "doesn't support vmr9" and I would have to switch to overlay to get pvrx operational. Once I got the program working, I would then switch to vmr9 (because overlay only displayed a black screen). Then I would be fine until the next time it froze the machine and\or screen. As this was annoying, I have upgraded by video card to nvidea 6200. All of this to say, you might want to try my former method of getting the machine to work, particularly if the card actually does support vmr9. If it works, you are in business as long as it doesn't crash.
