Sub, it looks like you have some serious competion when it comes to features (e.g. picture-in-picture) - but it can go further! Take a look at my post on the DVBViewer forum.
I will probably add multiple simultaneous recordings from the one digital tuner at some stage. Its unlikely I'll add picture in picture though - its never been something of interest to me. (I never used it on TVs I've owned in the past, other than a quick go to try it out. I rate it as more of a gimmick than something useful)

I agree, PIP is a marketing gimmick.

I've now got a pair of nova-t-500 dual tuners. The number of times both have had to record something is fairly rare, so if I were the developer, the reward would not be worth the effort of having to work out the scheduling of what's on what mux etc.
I've run DVBDream and it can display all channels on a mux and ISTR the ITV one has eight channels. It's ok for showing off, but of little practical use.
I use my TV's PIP feature a lot during football season (the american variety ) since there are so many games on at the same time.
I'll sometime have the main game on the screen, and surf the other games on the pip screen.
.. so ... some people actually use it..
With the event of larger screen displays, PIP is starting to become semi useful. I like to watch racing. Nascar has a system where you can follow a simulation of any car in the race on your PC. It looks like a video game. I set this for my favorite driver, then put it up on the screen side by side with the High Def live tv that usually only follows the leader. Then on commercials, I can still watch the "live" animation. This along with in car radio really gets you into the race.
I realize that this is outside of the scope of the wishlist item, but now that the screens are so big, you can usefully watch 2 things at once on them.

I didnt even know that was possible!!!!!!!
that would be awesome!!!!!!!
I agree about PIP.
the only use for it is if the show you really want to watch is pushed back because of sports.
you put the intruding game in the corner to watch for the end as you find something else to watch.
Cor - for something most of your are saying isn't such a useful feature, this is a lot of responses in such a short time! I'm honoured to have so many readers

It can only record additional channels carried in the same transport stream, which isnt very useful in the US since they typically only have space to carry one HD channel. In the DVB world though, its pretty common to have five or so channels on the one frequency.
Wow, just when i think ive hit a wall as to what extra features can be squeezed out of the gear i have, i discover something else!
Im not sure how you would work it from a scheduled recordings and conflicts stance though, sounds to be a very complicated task to organise! It would be very well recieved from me though, as i was thinking of pulling a Nova-T to make room for another cable tuner so this would give me some extra flexibility when recording.
