Hi,

GB-PVR is a great program, but what would make it better is that it should have an 'instant record' button in the controls when you are watching the TV or a hotkey button. I used this feature massively when I used the default software that came with my Freecom DVB-T USB stick.

Any ideas?

You can press the record button on your remote while watching live tv. How "instant" it is depends on whether you're in live preview mode or timeshift mode though. If its in live preview mode it needs to create a recording graph which can take a couple of seconds.

From THE WIKI

If Preview Mode is disabled in the miscellaneous tab of the config, or if you are currently in time-shifting mode, and then want to start recording, for later archiving, this is possible by hitting the record button on your remote (or Ctrl-k on the keyboard). LiveTV is saved to files related to the programme name/time/date, and are automatically deleted by the system a few minutes after you finish watching the file (unless you pressed the “record” button, then the file is kept).

You can learn a lot from the wiki Wink

EDIT:
Oh beaten by the master, although to be fair I had to look it up too :p

What I mean with the instant record button is that you just press record and then it will record instantly without any loading times, etc

I found when using the CTRL + K hotkeys that you can only set a time to finish recording.

I am talking about a separate button that you press, then you choose when to stop by pressing the button or hotkey again, and you don't need to wait for a while.

Anyone see what I mean? It's like what Freecom put in their software, the record button.

Sorry it doesnt work like that. It may seem like a simple thing to have, but its not. I considered these options at the time implemented, and added what you see today with the record key.
