I am running 1.0.16 and have tried to upgrade to 1.2.13 but had problems when I replaced the gbpvr.db3 file with my old one. I am guessing there was a change to the database. I have a large number of recordings in the database that I don't want to lose. How can I upgrade the database file? I would happy to incrementally upgrade to 1.2.13, but where can I find the interim releases? If they are not available, is there some sort of script I can run?

Thanks.

It would have been fine, and taken care of it all automatically...until you broke it by trying to copy your old database over the newer release's automatically-upgraded-database

Well, the instructions told me to backup my config and db3 file. Why was I supposed to do that if I wasn't supposed to put them back after the upgrade?

That was in case something went wrong with the upgrade (very rare) which caused you to loose you db and config. Having a backup would allow you to go back to the previous version.

Just the same as backing up any data, you only need it if something goes wrong.

This post explains the reason for backing up the files and the fact that you shouldn't copy the backup over the new version. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ght=backup

I have modified the wiki notes on upgrading to explain this more clearly. However, in one of the posts I was flipping through there was a reference to another database that some people with certain options need to backup as well and now I can't find it again. Can anyone who uses that other database either further modify the upgrade notes on the wiki, http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manua...ationNotes.
or let me know and I will do it.
