Geek Accusation?

I was in the living room accompanied by my beautiful wife and our cats whilst tapping away on my laptop when wife piped up "What are you doing?"
She thought I was working, me said "GBPVR Forums" and showed her, I was accused of being a geek! Am I? Anyone else wife/GF stories? Steeb

I've rarely been described as a geek or nerd in my life although, undoubtedly, I fit the category.
My family, wife and friends just consider me to be 'not normal'. Reassuring in a slightly disturbing way. Yorkshire is pretty good for steam trains. I'd also recommend the service that runs from Douglas on the Isle of Man. One area where my wife is just as nerdy as me - as a child she thought dolls were rubbish but loved her train set. Then again, she's old enough to remember when steam was the norm for trains. Cheers, Brian

feedback! 1st off mvandere so that looks like cricket then? Plan 4 visiting the big Oz still in the making but even shark attack stories can't put me off, have cousin in Oz (Perth) but Melbourne looks like a visit worth doing  2nd ACTMS, 33 years, sounds fantastic, can't believe you're only eccentric, sounds to me like you are a geek! Happen to be visiting Scotland next month, mainly East coast but always up for experiments, any more tips? Cheers Steeb

I am an engineer by profession, which by definition is in the heart of geekdom. It is what I is and I am proud of it! Actually, most of my wife's friends don't think I am a geek, just very "handy" since I can and will try to fix or build anything. I guess it is all in perspective.
