No going to be able to give too much support, and it' still a work in progress.

But here is a link to the ML3 beta - http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/uploads/Plugin/M...3-BETA.zip

I'd recommend seasoned ML2 users only to try it. and take backups of you plugins\Common and Plugins\Musiclibraryx directories (2 or 3).

Then remove the old MusicLibrary2 directory.

Then copy package (keymappings directory, skin2 directory, and plugins directory) to gbpvr directory.

Another restriction is that it only has a blue skin packaged. But what you will notice that this is a pure pvrx2 plugin, not a legacy plugin.

The titles screen can switch between list and icon view. To switch view, use the menu button (home) and choose Icon View/List view as desired.

There WILL be bugs I know this but this has been a long time coming, and so if I can start documenting the bugs and the shortcommings then I can start making some updates.

I did not get this to work. Both on MVP and PC I got an empty screen. Only the bottom two lines of the screen appeared after pushing a button.
I did try to setup a new database, but it hung on scanning the MP3's. The database did not grow beyond the initial 12Kb or so.
Logs attached.

I don't remember any database changes between this and the last version. But your log are complaining first ML3 - that it can find 0 titles. And MlUpdater it's getting a Loading paths error.

Ok then further down in the MLUpdater log I see it starting to load - but it's doesn't complete...

Code:
13-7-2008 12:38:21    MusicLibraryDirectoryReader    Process    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary3: Creating worker thread
13-7-2008 12:38:21    UpdateService    UpdateProgressEvent    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary3: Reading Media Files...
13-7-2008 12:38:21    MusicLibraryDirectoryReader    Process    VERBOSE    MusicLibrary3: Thread started[/END]

You may have to clear your library (delete the db3 file - after taking a backup) and run a scan again.  When running mlUpdater (I need to add this as a console message) you can use the -update argument to run an update, and to force a full update -full.

So enter:
[CODE]mlupdater -update -full

to do a full rescan.

1) It did not work with the original database, so I threw the database away twice. But as said the scan procedure did not work properly.
2) I have now done a single album from the console with mlupdater (from the common directory). I do get all the tracks, but the screen is only updated after I push a button on the MVP remote. There are no titles on the screens. If I push the menu button I do get a popup window with in the first lines something about adding a city. I do not find the familiar commands to (fast) update the library.

I am now waiting for the external updater to scan all my MP3's. I'll keep you posted on further progress.

hmm, I haven't tested with the MVP, so I'd have not idea what that will do, but that sounds like a screen refresh issue. There is some funny stuff with that that I need to sort out since these are all subs new classes there's a bit of a learning curve..

Behaviour on PC and MVP are more or less the same. It needs a different keystroke to get the screen started. If you wish I can mail you a number of screendumps.

and and while I remember, I doubt I've added your composer tag in either. Will be read, and stored in the DB, but probably not displayed.

How big is your DB and what are your initial load times like?? I had to fix that up yesterday, as mine took an age to load up the "All, All" (i.e. all tracks) into the initial Title screen.

Indeed the composer tag is not yet there, but I don't consider that as an urgency at the moment.
The database is close to 2Meg. Also with a smaller database of 26Kb the screen only showed content after a mouse movement in the VNC console.
I'll disable the All/All in the next experiment.
Yesterday evening(here) I did send you some screenshots+comments via regular email.

(Hi Pieter finally I have time to join in from the PCH though)

For me the installation was not smooth. I didn't know I had to manually remove the two groups <MusicLibrary> and <MusicLibrary3> from config.xml to even configure it.

Next I could not initiate the scan from within config.exe and I gave up and it did work from the command line.

Now I can start playing!
