Anyone use the Gyration remote? Does it work out of the box? If not what did you have to do to get it to work?

You can use Intelliremote to have your Gyration Remote control GBPVR.

I've been using one for about four months now. I'm a bit biased since I've helped them with some hardware designs in the past, but their products are solid. I'll list my main likes/dislikes, but some of them might be invalid since I haven't done much with customization.

Likes: Little to no latency on the wireless connection. The accelerometers are very sensitive and don't require you to wave your arms madly to move the mouse. Long battery life for what it's doing (finally on my second set after daily use for over 3 months). The learning function makes it easy to adapt to your hardware.

Dislikes: The "Green Button" functionality doesn't work with GBPVR out of the box (not sub's fault). Volume control has a punch-through so that you can set it to control your receiver in any mode...except PC mode - huh? Depending on what you watch most, some of the function keys may be inconveniently placed.

All in all it's been worth what I paid for it.

Excellent review reyngreg!

As for your gripe you can have Intelliremote map your GBPVR profile to make your green button start GBPVR. In fact one of the GBPVR users just donated a profile for Intelliremote and the Green Button is mapped to launch GBPVR.

I also forgot to mention I have an example gyration.xml profile with all the Gyration buttons mapped correctly, but that does not mean you can't customize the GBPVR profile and teach Intelliremote your Gyration buttons. So you would just highlight the Green Button in the GBPVR profile, then press Learn Code button in Intelliremote and point your Gyration remote and press the Greeen Button and now the two are forever linked. So when you press the Green Button on your Gyration remote it will execute whatever command you have mapped in Intelliremote.
