The search seems not to be working. Remote server not found - but the main Pirate bay site seems fine. [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]Any ideas?

I've looked at the error log. and it's not great news and yes your right.

Line 7 .. The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

I've noticed over the last couple of months, TPB search servers are a little 'flakey'. Basically the DLL is saying It can't see the search server.

Out of interest what were you searching on ?

Give it a couple of hours and try again... hopefully it might get sorted.... otherwise send me another log.... mind you the logs are a bit 'simple' in this version of the DLL. so you can see everything I can see...

It's been down for a while - I thought I'd give it a bit before I posted. I read on t'internet that TPB has been having a few problems, as seems to be the way of torrent sites at the moment, so maybe they've relocated or hidden the server in some far away country.....

Fuzweed

Good news.... I've found the URL changes that TPB have made and I've updated the DLL.

Here is the updated DLL.

Please note this DLL is explicilty for version 1.0. not the pre-release version.

still getting a 404 not found. Did you post the correct dll? It shows as version 1.0.3.0 - which is the same as the one I had before.

Yep it's the right DLL.... you should have the modification date of 5/08/08 at 21:33....

Otherwise I'm going to need the log from the plugin also and a later copy of the TPB log file.

I'm at home tonight... I'll retest with my dev machine to verify I've fixed it...

Fuzzweed,

here's a newer version, It's added more logging so the log file should be more helpful.. I've also recompiled the DLL with a new version number stamp :-)).

So this version is 1.0.3.3

Can you copy this version over and let me have a copy of the logs please.
Regards Systemshark

Hi Fuzzweed.

I hate to say it but the torrent plugin is not executing the right version of the ThePirateBay.dll. I think you have multiple copies inside GBPVR directory structure.

the old version created logs like this :- (which is you)
09/08/2008 22:03:18 ThePirateBay-Setting Search Phrase
09/08/2008 22:03:18 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch
09/08/2008 22:03:18 ThePirateBay-MakeURL
09/08/2008 22:03:18 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-Building URL
09/08/2008 22:03:18 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-Connected to Website
09/08/2008 22:03:19 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-Error Detected
09/08/2008 22:03:19 Text :ThePirateBay-Execute Search - The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. Source: System
09/08/2008 22:03:19 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-Finally-Leaving ExecuteSearch

I'm installed Torrent Plugin 1.0 and changed the DLL to the version from this thread. It generates logs like this :- as labeled (1.0.3.3)

09/08/2008 22:08:41 ThePirateBay-Setting Search Phrase
09/08/2008 22:08:41 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch

09/08/2008 22:08:41 Text :ThePirateBay-MakeURL - Index was outside the bounds of the array. Source: ThePirateBay
09/08/2008 22:08:41 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-Building URL
09/08/2008 22:08:41 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-Connected to Website
09/08/2008 22:08:41 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-GettingResponse
09/08/2008 22:08:41 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-Reading HTML Page
09/08/2008 22:08:41 ThePirateBay-ExecuteSearch-Disassembling Stream

I have a thought.... A Number of people reported the PreRelease version didn't find the DLLs until they were copied to the gbpvr directory... do you have a copy of ThePirateBay.dll there ? if so.. update this copy too.... and you should be in business....
