I've brought this up before, but I figure since it now has a forum of its own more people will see this.

After a system restart, about 5mins into a video, I get video stuttering while playing Netflix movies about every 5-6 seconds. The image freezes for about .5 seconds, every 5 seconds. I thought I had it fixed by messing with process priorities, but it never lasted. This is absolutely driving me up the wall. It only happens on my XP machine (see my sig for the client) and only in Netflix (not video library or wmp standalone.)

Do you get the same freezing when viewing Netflix videos directly from Internet Explorer?

If it's only happening in the plugin, are you downloading a video or recording at the same time or does it happen when no download is occurring?

No downloading or recording is going on. It's only happening on my XP client and does not happen in netflix IE7 window playback. The vista one seems ok, but I haven't tested it as much either.

I do have other stuff like eventghost and IRtrans (ir sensor software) running, but I shut them down and it eventually still comes back. Either way, I need those running for infrared remote control.

Try setting the plugin to use an external player like WMP or Arcsoft TotalMedia Theater or Cyberlink PDVD and see if the movie still stutters.

Ok, but I thought it was WMP? Will I still be able to stop rew/etc, or do I have to do another entry for WMP in eventghost?

I am having the same exact problem. Also with XP. Just to add another data point i had been closing gbpvr and using wmp directly to watch downloaded shows. Done that way i don't get the stuttering. By accident i discovered if a left gbpvr running and opened wmp with its icon and started the downloaded movie i would get the stuttering again.

Whoa! So it's not just me. What is gbpvr doing that would cause this? Can I really call WMP from GBPVR to play this? I thought GBPVR netflix now plugin was using WMP.

The plugin is using a customized WMP ActiveX control. I just wanted to know if it did it running it through WMP directly. split told me what I needed to know. I don't get the issue on Vista so I will have to try to build an XP machine and see if I can reproduce the problem.
