Because the questions are already coming on the NMT forum from istar users I thought I'd start to explain the change that the next Syabas firmware has in store for you. The change is actually quite straightforward, you just have to change the telnet.html file.

Where you now might now have something like:

Code:
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20EditMe:mvpmc/script.cgi">Telnetd</a>
<BR>
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/[SMB]%20Edit:mvpmc/gbpvr.cgi">GB-PVR</a>

You will need:

Code:
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/EditMe:mvpmc/script.cgi">Telnetd</a>
<BR>
<a href="http://localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/EditMe:mvpmc/gbpvr.cgi">GB-PVR</a>

In addition the full name of you serverConfusedhare in this case EditMe:mvpmc can actually be edited on the NMT to suit your needs. You also can view what these names actually are from your PC, with this URL in your browser (substituting you NMT IP)

http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8883/network_share.html

If you do edit the name, remember it is the entire EditMe:mvpmc that will need to be replaced in telnet.html, not just EditMe

After the new firmware is released, I will be talking more about how to load GB-PVR with no configuration. I will want to get a few of you to help test the instructions first.

Ok, but I should add you will still need to be able to set up a Windows share that can be browsed from the PCH, so if you have it working now, nothing really will be gained.

The new firmware is available for download and it mentions

8. Known issues
- due to Pathname changes for Network Shares, may break some YAMJ and GBPVR generated HTML links

You might want to check out the sample here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35313 before and after upgrading to see the drop in mkv performance on certain files. Many previously nonplayable mkv files will work as compensation but Windows shares are definitely superior now.

The link to the no config setup instructions are here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post292500 Feel free to offer comments and updates to make this more visually appealing.

Cool I'll be back in town on Sunday....this gives me something to look forward to when I get home....other than the two weeks worth of real-work e-mail that I have not looked at while I have been on Holiday....Big Grin

If I already have a working setup, will I need to make changes when upgrading to the new firmware? I looked at "index.html" in the zip file - am I supposed to replace "NETWORK_SHARE" and "NETWORK_BROWSER" with anything?

That is the ez_mvpmc script. For your working script you make the change as explained in the first post on this thread.

Martin, could you please confirm (if you know) that scripts on hard drives or USB stick still use the same old format. (I'm getting twitchy in my old age Wink)

I don't think it changed but based on the YAMJ comments I think you are ok. I wouldn't worry about it, if it really doesn't work I try it.
