Anybody still using RenameRecording? I notice the forum has been dead for a while.
If so, is there an easy way to convert an entire collection en masse? The other rename utilities seem to be focused on integrating additional online video metadata into filename, which I don't want. TIA!

I use it, and it works fine. But according to the instructions, it has to look up the program name in the program guide. I doubt you could do that for a batch of recordings, unless the names were still in the program guide.

I'm taking a closer look at WizRenameRecording. It looks like it provides some of the same features, including batch. And seems to be a little more up to date. Most of these renamers scrape additional Web info, which I really don't need.

Has anyone? Where does it pull its guide info? If it pulls from gbpvr.db3 then older shows should rename OK (in my case, I have existing recordings already in the DB that I want to rename to <episode>.mpg). I checked out the Wiz utilities last night. They appear to do everything I want, including providing an interactive GUI mode where I can test out parameters before actually renaming anything. I also got the WizEpisodeTweaker for quick DB edits (usually I use SQLite Maestro but that is overkill for a simple description note). So far, highly recommended. Thanks!

I've been using GBPVR forever. I love it, and I love rename recording.
I want to do an autoencode xvid, specific size, but how do I get it to rename the recording first, (using renamerecording) and pass that value (of the renamed recording) to the auto encode batch or process? Please help!

I use Wizrenamerecording as the most up to date and stable (ie It works).
Renamerecording(s) just has/had too many problems. mciarcia: You can do it in postprocessing.bat Take a look at the mencoder posts, and do a forum search for getnewname.vbs You can then do it something like this: Code: REM start transcoder process----------------------------------
You can never have enough tuners!
