Well, I've reinstalled GB-PVR on a friendly "C" drive directory, and did the install and imports and most things are happy, all but my beloved ZPROCESS. (Using GBPVR10213.msi, and latest ZProcess dated 04/04/08, piping down to two MediaMVPs).

From the logs, I'm seeing a message:
Quote:Auto ZProcess is dead. Kill Transcode and tell ZTranscode to close

Funny thing is, if I add a GB-PVR MediaMVP Transcode pre-play delay, I get pretty much that much longer transcoded output video (which doesn't play to the MediaMVP - it's just in the dump directory).

So it seems there's something out there watching for a dead ZProcess and killing it, but... it isn't dead! What's intentionally killing ZProcess?

I've even manually run the generated "RunTranscode.cmd" file, and it works to completion, so it can't be ffmpeg borking.

Based on the suspicion that _no_ transcoded video gets seen on the MediaMVP, I've tried both versions of the Trans2MVP.exe (original, and ZTools version), but to no effect.

Whut to try now? Suggestions? I really prefer ZProcess to the standard GBPVR transcoder...

You will need to set the GB-PVR Recording service to interact with desktop

Yeah, I did that as per the install, restarted the service, but didn't reboot. And, as you well know, the mystical Windows reboot ("Did you turn it off and turn it on?") can repair many, many things.

Yup, it now works!

Thanks so much!
