ah well, I kind of installed it now... I can't recommend it because I do not really know if my kind of installation really updated the software ...
here is what i did:
- copied the GBPVR10213.msi to c:\ - called msiexec /a GBPVR10213.msi - set the path to c:\ - shut down the tray icon and the recording service - copied all extracted files to c:\program files\devnz\gbprv
I think this is what the origial installer should have done. But I am not shure because 16:10 support doesn't cut the picture to fit my screen, it extends it ... :p

Given the installer has worked fine for the majority of thousands of other users, I'm sure its just something funny abut your machine that stopped it installing correctly.

Ah well, I am not expressing myself very good (english isn't my mother tongue...) Wide screen support works and by now, I think the update was successful. What I am really missing is, that gbpvr fits the TV image into 16:9 screens by cutting the top and bottom instead of adding black stripes (unused screenwidth) to the left and right side. I am not complaining about that the installer doesnt work for me. Thanks a lot.

First though, make sure you're using a decoder other than 'system default' then try pressing F7 to get into the 'auto' aspect ratio mode. If its still a problem then post the details I mentioned above and I'll take a look.

i have been trying unsuccessfully to get clear qam channels through comcast on my new hvr-2250. someone in a hauppauge forum told me to quite trying to use the junk they package with their tuners (wintv) and to use this gbpvr as a viewer for tv. i know nothing about any of this software and was hoping you might give me some basic info.
i noticed there are some downloads at the beginning of the thread that i probably am looking for, but i don't have a previous version and and i'm not sure i know anything about the 2.0 something or other that's mentioned. thanks for any help getting hd nfl on my computer soon.

I just installed this software but it does not recognize my Plextor TV100u USB capture device. Any ideas on why?

is this update supposed to fix the dvd aspect ratio or do I still need to grab the patch? (I havn't tried an actial dvd, but I've tried an ISO of a dvd and it is coming up as the incorrect aspect when "Auto" is selected).
