It was the config.xml file that I was editing. I have done some more testing. When I manually add .FLAC to config.xml and then update Library ML3 identifies and includes all .FLAC files however the accepted music format on the settings screeen still only shows the defaut (ie my manual changes not shown). If I then save the new config then my edit of config.xml (for accepted music formats) is lost and it reverts to the default.

Hi I think you've just found a bug... with the ML3 config form. I notice the ML2 one shows the .flac extention, but ML3 doesn't.

If you make all of your configuration changes save (exit config app I mean), then you may have to adjust your accepted extensions again (the tag is <EXT> I also noticed). I've just confirmed you <B>do</B> need to do this.

But I've also just confirmed that is you make this change in the config.xml file it is picked up by ML3 for use by the update program.

I'll try to get a fix out for that, but I've just got another project that has taken some priority over this...

Hi Psycik,

Still waiting for ML2 Panel to make a reappearance. My family doesn't want to see the busy screen unless making a selection, they just want to see the album art. I haven't used MediaLibrary2 for more almost a year, so I thought I'd check it out again.

Downloaded 8.0.3 today. I gave the database the default name. When I went to the Library Update tab, I accidentally hit Nuke Library before my first scan. It crashed both the settings and config programs with an unhandled exception. Nothing was written to the logs yet.

I went back in, reentered everything, and hit Scan Now. I got 2 warnings, my database had not been saved and a warning message that my last scan was 1/1/2005.

It looks like the Scan Now button is testing before action, but the Nuke Library is not.
Thank you,
Chris

ML2Panel is now actually written by ACTCMS, it is currently in beta in theis thread: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35406

I'll have a look with the bug you raised on the nuke library button.

The link to the the new MLPanel is in this thread

http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35407

But having said that we are just about to start a new round of alpha testing on the new slideshow version so hopefully we will have it available to all before the new version of GB-PVR is released by sub.......

I've just installed its looking good but I've come across a couple of issues:

Hitting the yellow button to queue a tack restas the playlist from the beginging, I think someone else mentions this earlier in he thread

In my music library at the top of the artist list is (unknown) presumably beacuse these files are not tagged, the problem is if i put the cursor on this catagory pvrx2 crashes. If I use the cursor keys to go down m list quicky its ok but if i pause for a split second on (unkown) the lights go out.

pvrx2.exe log shows this:
Code:
2008-10-31 14:08:00.328    VERBOSE    [1]    selectedIndex = 1     detailsViewVisibleIndex = 0
2008-10-31 14:08:00.328    VERBOSE    [1]    drawing image....

The problem is very repeatable so if you need more logs....

how many tracks to you have that would show up in that 'unknown" category? Is everything untagged?

If you could turn on internal ML logging (only cos there's a bug where ML3 doesn't log to the pvrx2 log at all) and post the musiclibrary3.log and the pvrx4.exe.log it will give me an indication of the query its performed and the size of the collection.

Media player says there is 396 tracks with unknown artist. I will grab the logs when the wife goes to bed.

Sorry should add its 396 in around 5000 total, so not all are untagged just a few stray ones.
