should I try the patch anyways and see if it corrects the aspect ratio? Patch was released 2008-06-21. Like I said, havn't tried an actual dvd but using daemontools the ratio is still incorrect.
Just upgraded, and cannot get playback through card to TV (but recording works, because I can watch the recordings on my PC). Any knowledge of issues with this card, with this release? If not, I'll post in another thread.
Are you talking about the tv-out connector on the PVR350? If so, GB-PVR dropped support for this nearly two years ago. You need to use a video card to output to your TV.

hmm, just tried to delete this post, but couldn't, and posted a similar thread in support. sorry about that.
UGH! not supported? hmm. use a viedo card? i'll have to eyeball the card to see what i have to do about that. is it the same for audio, too?
and, if these attempts fail, what's the most recent version that supports tv-out of my card?
sorry to be a bother, never had a problem with gbpvr, so hadn't upgraded for a while...

Yes, you use your sound card to output audio. Some people have videocards with HDMI output that also carry audio.

The last version I did anything PVR350-tv-out related was v0.97.9, back in June 2006. It hasnt been tested since then. It continued to work for some people after this, but I dont know which versions will work for you.

Sorry, but the app had to move on. The PVR350 tv-out was a nightmare to support and would lockup for more than 50% of users, with no chance of it ever being fixed (manufacturer wasnt interested in resolving the driver issues).

-->ok, was too tired last night to try. but i'll hook up the video card and sound card to see how things go.

--> hey, no problem. i am extremely grateful that you told me the tv-out won't work; i'd have tried and tried until i was ready to snap any i'ma developer, so i understand your problem with the hardware. i am disappointed in hauppauge; was it just that it's old hardware, and THEY moved on, or is happaugue bad at support (read this as buy from a different manufacturer in future)?
thanks thanks thanks for such quick, and, well, *helpful*, help!
i will also get the logs to you, converning the arrow keys. almost seems like it's getting to the end of the tv listing and backing up to the menu. weird. maybe that's expected behavior?

These bugs occurred with in the OSD feature of the PVR350 tv out (used to display the menus and graphics over the video). This feature of the hardware wasnt used by Hauppauge in WinTV, and wasnt advertised as a feature. It would have been nice for Hauppauge to fix this, but it was more of a Conexant problem, who made the chip set and provide the drivers.

Post the logs in the support forum and I'll take a look.
