I am sure this has been covered several times, but I have been going over it for a couple weeks now and I am getting nowhere. I originally had a PVR-150 card and that has been running great for a couple years. The system has been stable with no real problems other than what I caused. I added a HVR-1600 and now nothing seems to be working right.

Most of my analog channels in the guide from channel 1-180 show "No Show details". Before I only had channel 1-99. 181-257 show all of my listings, but they are way out of order. Most of the channels work, but a good number of them all go to the same station (i.e. speed channel goes to history channel, tmc and comedy central also go to the history channel).

My digital channels... I found close to 75 working channels, but they are all listed as unknown channels with the exception of a few ABC, NBC CBS channels.

When I go through the mapping of channels, I can see the picture with sound, however, for most of the digital channels, when I go to look at them in live TV via the guide, it is just a black screen with no sound.

I have schedules direct setup with 2 different lineups, one for analog and one for digital. I have been looking for any special setup for configuring 2 different sources, but I haven't come up with anything yet.

I have cable (QAM-256 according to comcast) going into all 3 ports on the cards. It is split several ways, but I have a very strong signal.

I am not real sure where to go from here. I know that both cards are working as I had 2 shows scheduled to record at the same time and they both did. Any pointers to other successful forum post or somewhere on the wiki that I have missed. I am thinking I need a custom qam.ini file or to edit mine maybe, but I am not sure.

My system specs:
Intel P4 2.66 GHZ
2.0 GB Ram
Cheap ECS motherboard
NVidia 5950 ultra video card (This could be part of the problem, but it seems to play 1080i and 720p video without any problems in other programs)
M$ Windows XP SP2
GBPVR 1.2.13 (with scanning patch applied)

Thanks

This is probably a sign that you've changed EPG sources at some stage, and the channel numbers conflicted. The easiest fix is probably:

1) backup your gbpvr.db3 and recording-dump.xml files
2) delete your gbpvr.db3 file.
3) start the config app, and recreate your capture sources
4) click the 'import recordings' button, and select your recordings-dump.xml file.

This is pretty common during the QAM channel scanning. Very few cable operators transmitted the PSIP information (channel name etc). You can still map them to your epg channel names, but it does make it harder without knowing the name of the broadcast channel.

Have you followed this advice: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=8

I saw that, but since the picture would never come up, even after making several channel changes. I did not try to make that change.

I am going to try the other steps now.
Thanks

hmm, I seem to not have a gbpvr.db3 file. I do have a gbpvr.mdb file. Is this the database file you were referring to? I have some empty.db3 as well as video archive.db3 and tv listings.db3, but no gbpvr.db3

I did switch over quite a while back. I was originally on Zap2it and switched to schedules direct.

I guess I can uninstall the entire program and reinstall. Would that be the best approach. I hate to go that way because I have several addons and plugins I like, but then again, I should probably clean up some of the old ones anyway.

If I have 2 analog cards, am I supposed to be adding the schedules direct to both of them, or should one of them be set to none?

Backup your gbpvr.mdb and recording-dump.xml, then run the changedatabase utility, but dont bother ticking the option to migrate the data, then follow the steps mentioned above with running the config app to recreate your capture sources and import recordings.

You need to setup the epg for each.

I think I am on the right track now. I also found the thread on how to use specific lineups for each tuner. That with what you suggested above seems to be working. I will report back tomorrow with more info.

Thanks for all the help Sub

My guide appears to be in much better shape now than it was before. I am still in the process of mapping the digital channels to the ones from SD. I am not sure that my computer has enough power to actually run 720p, but it is trying at least.

Thanks for all the help and making a great program Sub.
