GB is great and is almost perfect.

I have found a couple of annoyances.

They are:

- when attempting to cancel a recording in progress, it sometimes takes quite some time to respond. On occassions, it has sometimes caused PVRX2 to fail to respond altogether. The only way forward is close PVRX2 with ALT-F4 or taskmgr. In some cases a complete reboot is required. Any ideas of what is doing this, which log should I look at?

- playback/skip sometime freezes. I presume this is related to TS problem others have spoken of. Is there a fix or a workaround? (note: I prefer TS over other formats due to its flexibility - I tried mpeg muxes and never achieved a reliable result, dvr-ms has limitations when viewing video on another platform when recording)

- auto aspect gets confused and sometimes provides strange results. The most common is to show a squashed letter box. Can I improve this. Note: I am using a Nvidia PureVideo decoder.

- I sometimes get this error in my pvrx2.exe.native log
2008-09-24 08:41:52.796 VERBOSE getSetting(OSDTransparency)
2008-09-24 08:41:53.250 ERROR hr failed
Error code : 8876086A
D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE
Not available

2008-09-24 08:41:53.250 ERROR CreateDevice() failed
Error code : 8876086A
D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE
Not available

2008-09-24 08:41:53.250 ERROR m_Alloc.Init(m_hWnd, false) failed
Error code : 8876086A
D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE
Not available

Any ideas as to what is causing it?

- this is not really a bug, does gbpvr automatically purge old guide data so as to ensure the database does not get to large.

- when connecting as client over wireless, any updates such as adding a recording take a very long time and I suspect are receiving timeouts. I am guessing this has something to do with the way the client updates the database on the server and limited speed of the connection. Unfortunately, I cant improve the speed of the connection, hence is there something else that can be done.

Actually your db problems are probable more to do with two machines accessing one DB rather than network I'd guess.

SQL lite not really designed for multi user access....but it does it ok.

cancel problem sounds like my problem here..http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=36764
and there's another thread i know about that is same..i think it's a bug..
found it..http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post294937

you have to set nvidia's aspect ratio to anamorphic i believe...[just passes video along as is]
[to stop the squashed video]

were those errors same time as a crash? may be video drivers..or the problems with .ts seeks..not sure..the .ts filters are new, so expect things to improve next ver....

yes, it purges guide data, specially when you tick the 'complete epg reload' box in config
[but keeps any guide data assoc. with existing recordings]
Hardware: HDHR Prime, HDPVR 1212, Raspberry pi2, VFD display w/LCDSmartie
