Hey y'all. I installed GB-PVR a few months ago, and it is awesome. Unfortunately I had to reinstall Windows, and now I can't seem to get it cranking again.

I'm using the latest version (1.13). My TV Tuner is an A16AR Avermedia Hybrid Card.

Mapping to channels is fine, as is updating the EPG. However when I try using Live TV, I only get audio for TV3 and C4 and no picture. I get intermittent audio for the TVNZ broadcasts and no video.

I have tried sub's recommended codecs from reading other support posts, but can't seem to get a combination which work. I'm trying to use Cyberlink codecs, the Monogram AAC codec, and AC3 Filter - in various combinations but with no luck.

Could this be a problem with my video card?

Any help would be great, GB-PVR is by far the best with my card - the hardware acceleration is fantastic Big Grin

It looks like its having some problem with the Direct3D side of things. What video card do you have?

Have you tried switching to the Overlay or EVR renderer?

I have an Nvidia 8600GT video card.

If I0 set it to Overlay Manager, I get audio, but not even a blank screen, visually the menu remains.

When I set it to EVR, I get the following:
"This system does not support the required VMR9 Video render"

Hey Sub, you are the king btw

Hi - I have pretty much the same issue.
My card & PC happily ran GBPVR before reinstalling Vista 64 - and now I get only audio on all channels except TV1 & TV2, no matter what renderer & decoders I choose.

I can play downloaded H264 video, Dxdiag shows no issues with directX and Re-RegisterFilters.bat does not help.

I have a Geforce 260, with latest 1977.98 forceware drivers, and Hauppage Nova T 500 DVB-T card with latest 4.3.25080.0 driver

Logs attached - I note a lot of error references like "unable to find requested skin image..." , and if I attempt to record, I get error "Attempt to connect to remote device process failed. Will try again if time permits" - are either of these relevant?

Any suggestions most welcome!

Set your logging level back to 'debug' then reproduce the error and repost the logs and I'll take a look.

You're not trying to do this over remote desktop are you?

If you're on XP, you could maybe try installing .net 3.5 to get the EVR renderer on to your machine.

Hi - logs on debug mode attached.
No not trying to do via remote desktop. I am running Vista 64 (and was previously running Vista64 when it was working on same hardware - including use of EVR)
I am fully up to date with windows updates & wondered if a recent update could have broken something (some sort of sly DRM thing?)

Cheers

I cant see anything obvious in your logs, but maybe try setting the audio renderer back to system default. Also try a non-PowerCinema version of the Cyberlink H.264 decoder if you can. I'd heard they purposely limit the PCM version of the decoder so that it isnt fully usable in third party apps - never used it myself though.

Hi - changing audio renderer made no difference (audio seems fine on all channels anyway)
Having trouble locating another H.264 decoder - even though I have power cinema 8 installed the only other H.264 option I have listed under "Advanced Codec" in config utility is ffdshow video decoder (which also makes no difference - TV1 & TV2 ok, other channels audio only)

Any other thoughts?
