As you likely have already seen on another post, we would like you to consider the possibility of keeping the md plugin running in the background. This should help keep the plugin updated and eliminate the delay and other issues that are caused by the plugin not having all the data from the stream. I am not sure about all the world, but for NA, the plugin could just watch the stream from the last channel it was tuned to and should not have to watch any special channel.

Thanks for your consideration.

Sorry, I dont think there is any likelihood this will happen. It'd be quite a change, and not something I'm likely to find the development time for.

Cool, thanks for the consideration. I will surf around and find out if anyone has some utility to do this.

I've decided to solve this my own way. I bought an extra DVB-C card and this card is used only to update my subscription card from the cable company. I use ProgDVB and Acamd for this and keep running ProgDVB tuned to an encrypted channel with live TV all the time (when my computer is on). Now GBPVR doesn't have to do the EMM updates and decryption always starts right away. I've just installed it a few moments ago and it seems to work as I intended. The only downside is I can't use this tuner in GBPVR, but I could always buy another one Smile. Without the need for an CI, those cards are quite affordable.
