UltraXMLTV runs manually, freezes when GBPVR calls it

OK for the record, Enhancer won't be calling a recording-dump.xml

I understand this. What I meant was that since I wasn't getting the recording-dump.xml file created I started asking sub why the daily update of the EPG was failing. What I found was that Ultra (that's a lot better. Thanks) was hanging and the EPG processing was not completing because of it. That is why the recording-dump.xml file wasn't being created. Once it became clear what the reason was, I moved form the Support forum to this one.

I've updated both the UpdateEPG abnd PostUpdate bat files. I rem'ed out the line calling UltraXMLTV_Enhancer today to allow the automatic update to run successfully.

That file is 14.8MB and zipped is 1.5MB and is apparently too big to upload. I will PM you about this.

From the UpdateEPG.bat, it looks like you were trying to use the Managaer and remmed it out on 9 30 (today)

The XMLTV-RUN.bat file is attached and it runs Ultra.

I'm pretty sure that when I rem'ed that line in UpdateEPG.bat it allowed the update to run to completion. Maybe the problem is with the Manager.

From the Wiki, I thought that there had been a problem with Manager but the newest version corrected that. I just checked my download of Ultra and Manager. For some reason, I did not install the latest version of Manager (presumably the one dated 7/2/2008) when I installed the latest version of Ultra and I have been running a version dated 3/16/2008.

Sorry for the added confusion. Should I just REM out running Manager and not bother changing to the more current version?

I copied the new Ultra executable to the Ultra directory and opened the application. I closed it by closing the application window. The SchedulesShows.txt file did not have the current time stamp so I figured I mdidn't do it right. That file did contain a list of approximately a dozen programs though.

I then opened the Ultra app again and got a bunch of popup error windows about database being locked and other things. When I finally closed it down the sched shows text filwe was updated butit is blank.

Yeah somethings weird all right.

You were suppsoed to copy the file out of the zip and overwrite the existing enhancer. Then open it and close it, no need to process. It snagas a look at your database for your recording schedule.

the reason is, I noticed from your settings, that you are NOR grabbing all programs. So I want to know what programs Ultra IS grabbing extra info for. Sorry if I'm not explaining myself that well. But I already know the problems you're having and I'm just preparing a package for you
