Hi!

I been using searchwiz daily and it is the best plugin to find shows that are on next hour or two.
I used to use the plugin to plan my day in advance and loved the list of categorized movies an shows that I could record that day.

However I lost this feature a while ago and have just been using the one hour and 3 hour ahead for searches since I could never get any listings up if I searched for whats on today.

I am guessing the search us using all my 1 gig memory however I used to do these searches when you designed this cool "whats on" feature.

TIP "For those unfamiliar with what I mean" - open searchwiz and put a single blank space in the search field and select "one hour ahead"

now you will have a list of all shows starting next hour. You can also use your categories so you can have only movies or sports lists starting next hour.

You can change the hours to match prime time etc.... It is a very cool feature than many have not used.

I notice on a new install searchwiz will not let you do these searches so you have to open up the settings in config.exe and add the space in the search field.

Hope that made sense

When did this new behavior start happening? Was it the last release or prior to then?

Hi!

Many many months ago... for a while I never updated my pvr plugins as things were running solid and suspected the problem may have been a plugin conflict..

i use two 14 day guides 70ch & 358ch using UltraXMLTV_Enhancer to enhance the info and add date stars and MPAA to titles.

This month I finally bought a fresh 500 gig drive and did a new windows and fresh PVRX2 install no carry over stuff using latest releases from website. Community skin moviewiz and searchwiz and could not view todays movies even when using the 500 max search limit.

Let me know if you want me to send you my two guides to try...

The problem could just be my computer

cheers

I've made a couple changes that may help with memory usage. Try this version and let me know if it helps....

Cannot get it to freeze on my machine.

I did notice you had about 350 channels, not sure how many days of EPG. If you look at task manager what does your memory consumption look like?

Also, note that SearchWiz hits the EPG when searching for shows. If you are starting up PVRX2, the TV guide is also hitting the same tables at the same time, which could cause some contention.

Try firing up PVRX2, wait until the TV Guide loads and CPU settles down (watch in task manager). On my machine, this took a couple minutes with your database (ie EPG). Once TV guide is loaded, check memory consumption, then try a search and watch consumption and CPU utilization.

If it is still locking up, you might try lowering the number of days in the EPG and/or dropping some of the 350 channels you may never watch (ie Home Shopping Network,...)

Thanks for your help!

After reading your post I stopped mencoder and video playback and tried again and was able to load a day of listings (1,200 lists) so I will figure out how to manage memory more for your application. My system was running at 500m ram after closing pvrx2 and I have 1 gig of ram total on a 3ghz p4 ht system.

I have unfortunately found a problem with scheduling recordings now.

I have some season recordings such as news that I know are on a certain input but when I select an upcoming show at the same time on the other tuner I get a prompt if I want to cancel the other tuner schedule. I am at a loss of what to do?

any ideas?

I am pretty sure that the fault lies with a season recording.

Thanks for all your help.

Can you post your logs after triggering this issue?

Hi!

ok here is what I did to try to recreate the error...

all times 1pm pacific start
select in tv guide:
World's Most Amazing Videos tuner 1 season recording enabled
Searchwiz:
"bobby" tuner 2 selected to record fine and I canceled to try to find the error
selected - "definatley maybe" tuner 2 prompts to cancel tuner one "worlds"
cancelled "World's Most Amazing Videos" to record "Defin..."
sent logs

UPDATE - bobby is still scheduled to record in pending menu?? weird
no "worlds" or "def" entry in the pending menu ??? hmm
worlds is gone from recurring menu??

Can you schedule both shows in the TV Guide? I'd like to understand if it only fails in SearchWiz, or if the same problem exists in the Guide as well.
