I've been using GB-PVR for a while now and extending it to my tv with a Media MVP. I was wondering if there's any way to get the same functionality as my MVP on another computer/laptop. I did a quick search, but everything was about extending to a television, not a computer. I know I can run remote desktop, or something similar, but I was hoping there's a better solution.

TIA.

NM, I think I found my answer. Maybe someone can confirm. In config -> capture source check "Configire this machine to act as a client". Then set my directories.

Yeah, that was it. I figured it out right after I posted the question. Only thing is I can't get it to work using streaming, only with file sharing. The wiki notes that they both work with streaming being faster, but file sharing is more versatile. When I use streaming, when the playback is supposed to start I just get a black screen and PVRX2 just locks up. Oh well, at least it works on file sharing, though I'd rather have the extra speed.

It is often a firewall setup problem on the server when you get a blank screen with streaming. e.g. http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=38257

What capture device are you using?

Digital devices can only use streaming mode if they're using a mux that produces .mpg files (ie Cyberlink or ATI mux).
