Pieter you have to add -F (capital F not the f). I just checked.

Its working very well.
Question: Certain groups of programs are listed as "bla bla bla met om:".
The entry is reduced to not have overlap but not removed.
I also would like to remove all entries shorter then 5 minutes
I use epgfilter.exe to clean up these entries but it should be simpler to add these rules to your grabber. In what language is it written?
Is there a way to get the source so I can help improving?

Hi Erik,

It's written in c#, as long as you don't distribute the source I'm fine with you adding/making changes to it. In fact the 5 minute filter sounds like a good idea!

You'll find my e-mail on my website main page http://www.servercare.nl

cheers,

Paul

I mailed you and added the program EPGFilter.
This is a small utility to postprocess a xmltv.xml file to remove or edit entries.
Have a look.

Sheik Yerbouti Wrote:http://You could take a look at [url=htt...110mb.com/, that's a great alternative for NLGrabXMLTV and there's no grabbing from tvgids.nl but from the Microsoft servers.

Chris
This is really an excellent alternative. Configuration is really easy, it runs very fast, and as an unexpected bonus, it gives 2 weeks worth of tv listings ! superb! Thanks for the tip.

Anyone noticed that the site http://www.tvgids.nl changed there site? Because the NLGrabXMLTV doesn’t work anymore for me.
So now I use mc2xml. There is a post in this forum somewhere but i could'nt find it, so it took me a while to get it setup right.
I even think that mc2xml works better because it uses the EPG from Microsoft. It works for the Dutch users to.
It recognised my city and cable provider. The only drawback I could detect is the use of icons, but that could be my lack of knowledge.
This is my setup:

updateEPG.bat:
cd "C:\Program files\devnz\mc2xml"
mc2xml -F -c nl -g "8013 xj"

-F places the readable names first
-c for country code (nl for The Netherlands)
-g “xxxx xx” For the zipcode
Countrycode and zipcode format are different for other country's go to the site of mc2xml

Mc2xml.chl:
Ned 1
Ned 2
Ned 3
Eén
Ketnet/Canvas
RTL 8
BBC ONE
Etc… (only the channels you want)

Mc2xml uses the .chl file to select the channels you want in your xmltv.xml and it has to be in the same directory as mc2xml.exe.
The first time you have to select witch cable provider you want in the command prompt. Afterwards the settings are stored in mc2xml.dat.
Afterwards you have you’re xmltv.xml. You only have to point you’re XMLTV plugin to this file and you’re setup.

Next step for me is to get the pretty icons in place Big Grin

I guess it's working again, but it doesn't download descriptions anymore and it downloads only 3 days I think. But probably better than nothing.
I'm using the mc2xml appl. too. It works very nice, pity it only downloads 3 days for Ned 1, 2, 3.

I have problems with getting the channel logos right for two Belgian channels:
Eén
Ketnet/Canvas
The accented character and the slash are part of the channel name, but they are not allowed in the name of the icon file.
Do you have a solution for those?
